the toner cartridge was so simple to replace. hardest part was opening shipping box. I simply opened a drawer on the front of the printer, lifted the old cartridge out, shook the new cartridge horizontally 5 to 6 times, lowered the new cartridge into place, and closed the drawer.

This machine can detect when a page is in the ADF or on the glass when copying but will not do the same when scanning. Seems like a simple fix for you to do. It's a pain to have to select "glass" each time you are scanning a single page.
