Pleased with my purchase but there was an issue

We are pleased with the purchase. It's installed and working. After much research, this hood is the one I chose and I am glad I did. The four stars instead of the five stars is because when the hood was taken out of its packaging, the installer noticed a small dent, which was covered by the sticky packing tape covering it. In fairness, Hauslane responded right away and gave me the option of returning this and sending a new one, or giving me a small discount. I had to choose the discount because the kitchen work had already started, and I could not wait for a new dlivery.
This should not have happened in the first place with a company like this. Whatever (and whoever) caused the dent during packing should have addressed the issue at source. The dented part does not get in the way of the function of the hood (I think), but you can see the little unevenness in the three filter elements caused by the dented part. (I am unable to add a photo, maybe once I click submit?)

The right choice for this cook

I purchased the hood 4-1/2 years ago. I love it. Since I am busy kitchen chef, keeping the house clear is important. I make pizza and occasionally there are drippings that land on the hot 500F oven bottom. Very smoky. Frying bacon smells great but the aroma needs to be exhausted. Additional note: I had to relocate and I took the unit with me. I was using the rectangle adapter on top. then I changed to the circular adapter in my new home.

Great Suction, Easy to Clean

I installed this about a month ago, and it has been a great upgrade to my kitchen. The suction power is much stronger than my previous range hood, and it is very easy to keep clean. I like that there are six settings to adjust the fan speed. Installation was not difficult, and the unit looks great with other stainless appliances in my kitchen.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Powerful Range

I bought this model in matte black recently and the powerful CFM is definitely worth it. All of the odor and smell from cooking is absorbed very quickly. A good bonus as well is the unit is not too loud and we can easily have a conversation while cooking as well. The buttons being touch screen are great also for easy usage and cleaning. We used to have a microwave over the range hood and it was not powerful enough to do what we wanted. This is exactly what we needed.

Love the Hood but poor 3 x 10 rear vent design

Love the unit, but the 3 x 10 damper for rear exusting is a very poor design. Whenever the fan is turned above the 2nd notch the damper has a loud rattle sound that is comming from the hinge ends and loose gromets. When contacting the dervice department they would not allow me to speak with a technition without sending a video of the problem. My unit is vented directly from the back to the outside. My outside vent cap has its own 3 x 10 hinged damper. The outside damper is only about 5 to 6 inches from the unit damper. Still trying to deside if rhe unit damper can just be removed or replaced with a 3 x 10 better desigb.

Best range hood for the buck

The PS-18 is a very nice looking and powerful range hood. It seems that this would last for many years. With dual fans, the noise at level 6 is really loud but that’s expected. Love the dual lights which are very bright and just warm and cozy enough for me. I would not have to replace it to a different color. The steel gauge is very thick. With the dual fans and the gauge thickness, that makes the PS-18 a bit heavy. The installation instructions are lacking and I just had to watch youtube videos. Overall, this is a very good value range hood and highly recommended.
