The hood fan has a good range from low to powerful, the light is bright and construction is solid. It’s a bit heavy but you would expect that a solid build and two powerful motors.
Only installed last week but already asking: why did we wait so long to replace our 20-yr-old range hood?! The retro fit added a bit to the install but we (finally) managed w/o professional assistance. A pre-printed template would be a nice 'add'. Absolutely a minimum 2-person project (preferably 3 during some steps). The low speed easily provides more than sufficient odor removal and produces less sound than our previous hood. And really appreciate the delay 'Off' option. This is a beefy, well-made, beautiful addition to our kitchen remodel. Totally happy.
Prior to buying this hood, I bought a cheaper one but it was very loud, even on the lowest setting. It sounded like an engine!
I decided to bite the bullet and invest in this Hauslane hood since it was recommended by consumer reports. I'm definitely happier with this one.
On the first and second settings, it is relatively quiet. Even on the third setting, it's quieter than that cheaper hood, which I have since returned to the manufacturer.
It is a great product at a reasonable price. Easy to install and it has been working well over the past few weeks. It is quiet and powerful at the same time. Thanks.
This is a beautiful and yet minimalistic hood. It fit in our kitchen wonderfully and the noise level for the fan is great. We did have a super old hood before this, but all the more to appreciate Hauslane! Even our contractor was impressed!
Really like the range of options for exhausting the hood outdoors! It make installation in a retrofit easy. Hood was high quality and moved a lot of air. Highly recommend!
We had the same range fan that was in the 1980's build house since we bought it in 2002. It really didn't do anything to reduce fumes and the light was not useful. I looked at replacements that were essentially newer versions of the same fan. After doing a fair bit of research, I decided to splurge on the more expensive hood from Hauslane. I couldn't be happier with the decision. It does the job I expected of reducing odor in the house. But what really impressed me was that reduces the grease buildup on cabinets and the hood itself--much more than I thought it would. My only complaint was the the instal video was not all that helpful. No Screwrdriver I could find could screw in the mounting screws. The proposed "alternate" method of marking the location of the "keyholes" and pre drilling and installing the screws did work. There were a few minor adjustments that had to be made before installation. I also installed some EVA rubber strips to improve the fit and reduce vibrations. That would be a nice addition to the install kit. But the exhaust fan itself is great. The light (fortunately or unfortunately) illuminates the stove top well enough to see clearly where spills have occurred. One feature I didn't think would be that useful but really is nice is the shutoff timer. It's handy to push one button as you finish up and walk away to the next task knowing that the fan and light will run for another 3 minutes, then turn off. Hightly recommend the product.
