Hauslane is great quality

After having chatted with Hauslane's customer support in South San Francisco, I made the decision to purchase their best range hood and now that it's installed I'm thrilled with the product. Heavy-duty stainless steel body and stainless steel baffle filters that can easily be removed for cleaning in the dishwasher. Very pleased with my new range hood. The fan is quieter than the cheap hood that it replaced.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good hood, flimsy flopper.

Overall seems to be a great range hood. The backdraft damper (flipper, flopper thing as we called it) on the top is very flimsy. When I installed and tested, it was fine but once I sealed everything in, the suction is so powerful it ripped the damper right off and then it fell down and got stuck in a fan. Customer service said that shouldn't happen. Yeah, thanks! But they never offered a solution. I'll have to figure it out later and do without the backdraft protection until I can find the right size and fit.The light has one, and only one, VERY BRIGHT setting. Works for cooking. A bit bright for reflection off the window and TV, but again...not a big issue.Overall, happy with the value for the price.*amended review because the stuff I previously mentioned was user error! Still wish you could hold the fan up or down button and have the settings change, but maybe that's user error as well...

Very good cabinet range hood

I order this to replace a microwave range hood that caused oil problems. I have used this for almost a month and it exceeds expectations. The installation and customer support when ordering the Under Cabinet Range Hood was very easy and straight forward. It does an amazing job at removing the smell and contaminants in the air. Not only does it work well but it looks very nice and is a great addition to my kitchen and is very easy to clean. Overall this has been a great product that has helped me when cooking and cleaning a lot.

Very happy with this purchase and recommend it highly. It looks terrific, the fan motor is tremendous in this thing, the dishwasher safe steel filter baffles are great and unexpected at this price. We've tested it with a few smoky preparations since we installed it and it really pulls all the smoke and steam you ask it to handle; even from the front burners. The fan is not too noisy either. The two LED lamps illuminate the work area perfectly and with a nice warm light, and is thrown even a bit onto the counters on either side of my range which is great. I do wish you could dim or lower the light to a more ambient setting when not cooking but it's not so bright to bother really. A dark stainless steel option would be nice too but the design is so sleek that it blends in perfectly well and really has added a nice element to our new kitchen. The shipping was quick, it arrived in perfect condition with all the parts and manual. The only negative thing I can say is how dang hard it was to to get to the two rear screws, it was kinda frustrating, but be prepared with a 6-8" extension on your screw gun and it'll be ok. Again I am extremely pleased with the look and performance and would buy it again without any reservations.

Great Hood

Nice,clean looking unit. The buttons that turn the fan off and on are a little touchy till you get the feel of them. Unlike some of the other reviews, the lights illuminate my cook top extremely well. Installation reviews are right on target. Unit is heavy, you will need a 6 inch extension for your drill driver for screws. Need a piece of wood on top of your cooking surface. I used the Styrofoam packing material which is very solid, on its edge, to support the unit on both sides, while I lined up my car jack underneath. Had a large plastic cutting board under hood to support it and prevent damage from jack. Be aware that you will have to lay on your back to get to the rear mounting holes. Head lamp works great here and also why you need wood on your cooking surface- easier on the back!!

Very satisfied although is a bit too noisy, but is a tradeoff since I wanted a lot of power. So far seams to be built with high quality materials. Came with all exhaust adaptor options and hardware, a hughe plus.
