Major Downgrade From Version 4. Defective Magnet Polarity on Version 5.

This is my third OhSnap product. I started with an earlier version and then upgraded to Version 4, which I am still actively using with no performance issues. Version 4 uses a reusable adhesive that I did not especially like, but the magnet itself is strong and very reliable. My phone attaches securely to mounts and accessories and stays in place.I recently purchased Version 5 in the Stone color to match the titanium finish on my phone. Visually, it looks great. Unfortunately, the magnetic strength is a major step backward.Version 5 sticks to my phone with no problem, but when I try to attach accessories, the magnet does not immediately attract and lock on. There is a brief repelling or “bouncing” effect before it finally connects, and even once it connects, the hold is very weak.In real-world use, this means that:•My phone will not stay attached to my car mount.•Accessories disconnect with normal driving vibrations.•The overall magnetic connection does not feel secure or dependable.This is not just a minor difference in strength. The magnetic performance on Version 5 is dramatically weaker than Version 4, to the point where it no longer functions reliably for hands-free mounting.The removal of the reusable adhesive on Version 5 would have been fine if the magnet were stronger, but in its current state, the product does not hold securely enough for practical daily use.This is extremely disappointing, especially because Version 4 performs so well, and I expected Version 5 to be a functional upgrade.

Not so strong.

I have bought them on the past and loved them because they attach to the MagSafe without taking them off. Then I bought the new one and it doesn’t seem to be as strong as the other ones. So don’t use it right now.

Not compatible with Snap Stand.

Used Ohsnap products since Gen 1. The best feature by far is the magnetic grip. Although the Grip 5 is virtually identical to the last generation in form and function — it is no longer 'compatible' with the Snap Stands I've purchased. The magnets used to stick together with force; now the phone falls off the stand with a nudge.

Great overall but...

I ordered the new Snap Grip 5 from having the Snap grip 4. I fell in love with product so much that i order the wallet and stand. I will say that im a little disappointed at the new version because it seems the magnets are not as strong with my Snap stand. Overall i still love Snap grip thats why i still gave it a 5star

Like the magnet, but the prongs seem cheap

Thought this was more of a quality product, the prongs on the pop part are very cheap plastic, and I am sure they wont last very long, one has already started turning the wrong way when I try to push it down, so I have to figure out which one it is and manually move it back. Sadly I wish I had not really purchased this item, another late night buying spree.

I really wanted to give this grip a 5 Star rating, but because as stated it does not guarantee pass thru charing had to ding it a star. I would recommend this grip for people who want a good two finger or one finger grip-stand. Works very well.

Does not hold to chargers the same

This was a nice concept. Down side it does not hold to mag chargers like my snap luxe 3 does. It almost pushes away like the magnet is reversed. Sad that I had to wait 2 months for it to arrive and work like this. Love everything else about the grip. And it does stick to the phone good without adhesive. I have a couple personal vehicles and a work vehicle with the magnetic vehicle holder and it just didn’t hold it as well. It doesn’t line up and falls off easily.

A little torn

Android user here. I have a flip 5 and got a case with the mag back. Im not sure if the cases mag back sucks but the magnets didn't hold as strong as I would've liked. Instead of putting the accessory ring on the case i put it on the inside of the case to see if that would help, and it does. The main reason why I got a grip again (had one back in 2021) was because I remember how useful it was for gym use. just sticking it on the metal machines made it so convenient. This time around, it sticks, but maybe because of the type of phone I have it on it doesn't always stay in place. It tends to start sliding down slowly (it is what it is). Sometimes it stays, sometimes it slides. Lastly, perhaps its due to the mag back case... when removing it holders or metal surfaces the grip will stick to the metal and detach from the phone. My only work around it to slide it off which leads to the grip getting all scuffed up. I remember before with a previous grip and phone I would just grab and go! My only solution might be to use the accessory ring permanently adhered on with no phone case to get the true intended use. Android/flip phone problems lol
