I loved the snap 3 pro, but it had several pitfalls. It was loud, the piece that snaps down didn't last long (ohsnap! happily replaced them for me), it couldn't lean both ways, and at times it felt cheap.
I stuck it out with ohsnap! because I loved their desk and car mounts, so when they released the Snap 4 Luxe, I was soooo happy that they fixed ALL of the problems from the snap 3 pro! It is sleek, quiet, and much more solid. Very happy with it and glad they are listening to their customers!

Adhesive sucks, love everything else

I'm another person who's been getting ohsnap since the very first crappy Kickstarter version, and this is by far the best version to date. I've always stuck with them because I got major finger fatigue with popsockets & hated how they caught my pockets, so the comfort & thinness have been very enticing to me. Every version has had some sort of issue that lead to them wearing down & breaking within months, so longevity has always been a problem. This one feels the sturdiest & best thought out. The plastic feels strong, & because it's thicker I dont feel like the center hole is ripping at my cuticles anymore. The magnets to close it are genius, the kickstand lip is stronger, the hinge is more comfortable, just about everything is better. My only issue is the adhesive. I get that v3 had adhesive that was meant to be reusable & ended up not really working that way because it was so strong (at least for me), but I feel like in an effort to tone down the strength to force reusability, it's now not strong enough at all. Whenever I have it mounted on my car charger, it falls. Really irritating because it makes mapping impossible. I just cleaned it to refresh it today so we'll find out if that helps next time I drive. I'm hoping either it starts to work better or they adjust that soon because everything else about this version is an improvement & I really love it

i purchased the version 3 and liked it except for the iPhone would get hot when charging and the adhesive would weaken. The 4luxe fixes all problems. Great product and I ordered one for my GF as well.

I preordered the Snap 4 Luxe and I'm so glad I did. This grip feels so high quality and next level. My favorite part is the magsafe capabilities and strong magnets. I put it on my fridge while I cook and watch youtube at the same time.

I’ve been using a fold-out MagSafe stand for a couple years; it’s only drawbacks are it has to be removed before attaching to a MagSafe charger, sometimes I’ll forget to reattach it or it kinda gets caught as I place my phone into my pants pocket. the 4 Luxe’s ability to charge via MagSafe while still attached peaked my interest. I attached it to turn back of my Element Special Ops case, and it works great! it’s a much slimmer profile than the fold-out stand being the same height as the case’s camera protective lip, so along with its magnetic closure, it doesn’t get caught at all when inserting into my pocket. I especially like how I don’t have to remove it to charge my phone, but time will tell if the added distance will result in charging inefficiencies overheating. as expected, it does get warm while charging. CONS: no real portrait mode as the angle is too low. I would prefer a straight edge on the stand’s circular perimeter for better stability. I worry the plastic springs will break earlier than later.
