[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is absolutely gorgeous monitor! Everything that I tested on this Monitor from watching from watching videos, playing games, and content creation (PowerPoint Slides, etc.) looks gorgeous. The colors are bright; even in a daylight lit room. And it’s easy on the eyes and it’s easy for me to focus on the content (especially with the thin frame edges!). The included base is solid and keeps the monitor securely in place. I also liked that the it allows me to tilt the monitor forward and back, and switch from landscape to portrait mode without any issues. As an added bonus is that there’s a silicone cable wrap on the back of the base to help tidy up the cables.
Setup was really easy. The parts are all very well laid out and the easy to understand setup guide is well written and diagrammed. Simple connect the base to the monitor, then connect the included power supply, then your video cord of choice (HDMI or DisplayPort, cables includes for both). The power button on the back is also a mini-joystick that allows for menu navigation. After you realize it’s there, it’s really easy to figure out. That menu system is used to select ports. VESA mounts are also available, but I like this base so much that I’m going to keep using it.
The only issue that I had was that this monitor accepts sound, so my computer automatically switched to it as an audio source, so I had to switch it back.
In the future, I might strongly consider getting a new soundbar for this monitor so that everything matches.

Blazing Fast OLED with minimal VRR Flicker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Today I am taking a look at the all-new Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF LS27FG602SNXZA. It is a 27in 2560x1440 500hz OLED. There are a few things to note about this monitor. It is using the latest Samsung display qd-oled panel and is the first 500hz display from Samsung. It is VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500 and uses a matte finish that Samsung is advertising as “glare free”. I was pretty excited to try this new monitor out as I recently upgraded my system with a RTX 5080. I have been running on an Alienware AW2721D 240hz monitor for a few years now and I have tried numerous different OLED displays but I am extremely sensitive to VRR flicker so I can’t wait to put this one to the test and see if I can comfortably make the move from IPS to OLED. Right off the bat, Samsung is using some pretty standard (but basic) packaging for the monitor which I actually really appreciate. My Alienware came in a massive very colorful box that was no doubt very attractive to potential porch pirates so the much more subtle box is fine by me. I really like the stand as it takes up very little space on my desk and the mechanism that is used to attach the arm to the base is fantastic as it is tool-less. Overall, the design and build quality is very good but I am not sure that I am a fan of the slim silver border on the front of the display. The G6 G60SF comes with a matte finish, and I was not sure if I was going to like it as the last few OLEDs I have tried were all glossy. For my use case (brightly lit room) I prefer the matte finish, but I know that many prefer glossy for OLED. I will say that this matte finish is well done and looks really good. Anyways, enough about the packaging and physical design; let’s get into the performance. I really enjoyed playing with the new Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF. The colors and clarity are outstanding, the matte finish is great for bright rooms, the stand is very well done, and the overall design is very clean. I am planning to make it my “daily driver” for a while and really put it through the paces. I can say that this is one of my favorite monitors from the last couple of years. For competitive gamers especially, For competitive gamers I can definitely recommend the OLED G6 G60SF. I also have to say that in terms of VRR flicker, this is the best OLED I have used to date! I am very sensitive to that so for me this is a big deal. Well done Samsung!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LS27FG602SNXZA: 27” Odyssey G6 G60SF QHD 500Hz Gaming Monitor is great for gaming across the board colors as all the colors are amazing. Black is very pure and the colors are very dense and beautiful to look at visually. I couldn't ask for a better 27" gaming monitor in this market. I really feel like I'm in the game while I play. All my games are now played with this monitor. The 500Hz OLED screen really sells me.

Insane 27” 500 Hz OLED Gaming Monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF QHD (1440p) OLED Gaming monitor is perhaps the most overkill monitor available on the market, with a mind-blowing 500 Hz refresh rate. Yes, you read that right, 500 screen draws per second, meaning support for 500 frames per second gaming. Here’s the biggest catch, though: unless you are rendering title screens at unlimited frames per second, or Windows Pinball before its service pack release, most video cards aren’t going to be able to even render most 3D games anywhere near 500 frames per second. With both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD Free Sync support, the frames that are rendered will pair up perfectly with this monitor, and screen tearing is certainly a thing of the past. Its Quantum Dot OLED display also features perfect blacks with no backlight and infinite contrast. It has plenty of connectivity with USB, digital audio, headphones, dual HDMI and DisplayPort support, and also features HDR 500. My only complaint is that the frame of the monitor is finished in a metallic silver bezel that catches your eye, especially when the monitor is blacked out, making you feel that the screen is “boxed in.” The monitor stand also has a little more depth than standard stands, but this can be remedied with any VESA-compatible mount. Resolution is only QHD (1440p), and it would have been nice if it were 4K, but understandably, there is little that will render at 4K at 500 fps, so this only makes sense.
Pros:
- 500 Hz refresh rate
- OLED glare-free display with perfect blacks and infinite contrast
- Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Support
Cons:
- 1440p QHD resolution and no 4K
- The silver bezel is distracting and would have blended better in black

Crazy Refresh Rate!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What can I say about the 27” Odyssey G6 G60SF? First of all, having a 500hz refresh rate is amazing! I was skeptical at first as my last monitor was already at 165hz but now that I’m getting 300+ fps in some of games, it’s so much smoother. No more motion blur and every frame is crisp and clear so I can hit my shots in first person shooters. The OLED with HDR turned on makes everything look amazing with incredible black and white contrast. I came from a different OLED monitor but this one is much better for work as well. Text is crisp and clear and doesn’t have a weird red and green shadow like many other OLED screens have. The on-screen display is easy to navigate and the options are easy to understand. I will say that many of the default screen options seem redundant as the picture doesn’t really change between many of them. The monitor was packaged really well and the tool less base attachment was easy and convenient. Speaking of the stand, I really like the simple metal base. It doesn’t take up much room on the desk and since it’s flat, I can still utilize the space and put things on it. Overall, I’m extremely happy and satisfied with the 27” Odyssey G6 G60SF!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited to try out the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF as I have never used an OLED monitor but I love my OLED TV! It comes Pantone validated and out of the box and the colors are very very good. The black levels and vibrant colors look absolutely amazing compared to my old IPS monitor leaving me impressed with the factory calibration. I decided to jump right into some gaming to see how it performed. As a mother of 3 boys, I do a lot of multiplayer gaming with my kids and husband, but I also like to relax and play some single player AAA titles. The colors and motion clarity in games like Fortnite and Cyber Punk are simply amazing! I don't really play any super competitive multiplayer games but I can still appreciate the high frames that I do get. Everything looks great and is smooth as butter. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to get a really nice, very well built OLED gaming monitor that can last for a long time! Samsung for the win!

Fast Gaming Monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was fortunate enough to be able to get a Samsung LS27FG602SNXZA 27” Odyssey G6 G60SF QHD 500Hz Gaming Monitor. I have been testing it out for a few days and I am pretty impressed. I am in the process of building a new gaming rig. This monitor will be an important component of the system that I want.
To start off, the unboxing was straight forward. Everything was packed as it should be. One small problem was with the handle locations on the box. One of the handles were ripped on arrival from the shipping carrier. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the foam reinforcements were only on half of the hole. Perhaps shipping at Samsung can fix this easily with a little CAD drawing adjustment.
I hooked it up to my graphics card and turned it on. This monitor is a 27” OLED display. I am upgrading from a 21” display. Just the difference in real estate is impressive. This is a nice big monitor. One of the first things that I did was scale up the size in Windows settings. I tried a few different values and settled in at a custom scale factor of 110%.
I have been trying different games and really like this monitor! The OLED display is amazing. The colors are vibrant and the blacks are black. I have been playing a few games where the game day progresses and becomes night. Before night was just grey. Now night is black. So while it makes for more realistic gaming, sometimes it was easier to see if it showed up as grey. The video and streaming on this display is amazing. I am getting very good image results from streaming services.
I like the glare free display. It seems like a small thing, but I have always liked having a glare free image whether it was on a TV or a computer screen.
I did update the firmware. Mainly for writing about it in this review. I went to the Samsung website. Downloaded Firmware 1002.9. Updated it from the USB in the service port. Couldn't have been easier.
So how does the 500 Hz thing work? Well it works great! The response time while gaming seems noticeably faster and less laggy that my old display. Does a person need 500 Hz? Probably not, but once you drive one that will do 500 Hz, you will not want to go back to 60 or 120 Hz.
In summary, if you are a gamer and would like to make certain that the monitor that you are using is not the bottleneck in your gaming speed, agility, or performance, then this is a good monitor for you. Did I say 500 Hz? That is crazy fast. I can fully recommend this monitor for a home gaming system.
