Switching from a Gear S3 to the ring, the ring needs to learn quicker - it does not do well on workout/exercise auto detect. The software update crashed the ring requiring a reset/restart. Traveling international the food search is limited compared to domestic. I have faith these will be fixed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thanks for reaching out to share your experience with us! We see that you reached out to tell us about your Galaxy Ring. The Galaxy Ring is a convenient tool for seamlessly keeping track of your health and wellness. It can monitor and measure your heart rate, automatically detect your workouts, and even guide you towards healthier habits. Before starting, make sure your Galaxy Ring is connected to the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone. If you’re wearing the Galaxy Ring for an extended period of time, it will automatically register certain exercises and record your fitness data. This includes the exercise type, workout duration, and calories burned. To find the supported exercises, navigate to and open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone, then tap Health settings, and then tap Activities to detect. Turn on the Auto detect feature, and then enable your desired exercise type(s) by tapping the switch(es). You can view your recorded data in the Samsung Health app. Also, make sure to recheck for software updates that might be available. If this persists, please reach out to us at Samsung Support. -Kelvin smsng.us/Samsung-Support smsng.us/Facebook-Messenger smsng.us/X-Messages smsng.us/Samsung-Community smsng.us/Warranty-Info smsng.us/Samsung-Care-Plus
The ring is surprisingly very accurate and I tend to track a lot more activity with it than I do with my watch 7. I've had all of the watches that have come out over the years and this rain tracks better and is way more accurate than any of them put together. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because it is so ugly, it does not look nice at all on my finger. I wear mine on my pointer finger and I got the silver color but I don't think I would like it in any color to be honest. I hope they can do something about it's bulking this in the future.
I have been using the ring for about a month now and it is a phenomenal product. So much so I brought one for my wife as well and she really likes it too! It is a great use for times when I have to charge my watch and when I can't wear my watch to continue to track everything. Really enjoying the product.
Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the ring. The battery life is as expected and the health tracking is similar to the watch counterpart. I purchase this ring so that I wouldn't have to wear the big and heavy Watch 7 Ultra to track my sleep. During the day I'll wear the watch and take the ring off since I'm not a fan of wearing rings. The build quality is also nice!
- For what this is, I am a huge fan, and can't wait for the next step in this tech space. - Admittedly it's not what I initially expected. I've used FitBits and other Smart watches and expected this tech to upstage them. - In a way it does raise the bar due to its size, battery, and capabilities with the Samsung Health App.
**It monitors and collects data**... It you're looking for anything else, its not for you.
- New features like "pinch" for photos and turning off the alarm has been added, and I can see more happening as the tech gets better.
- I love the minimalist design. I don't need anything else and it rarely gets in the way. It gets wet, it still works (I don't submerge it in soap or a bath/shower). Watches are great, but for those who don't use them, the Ring is honestly the best alternative and I get reminders, pings, and I'm not cumbered by other tech.
