I've been reading about this AVR for quite some time and have heard great things. I finally bit the bullet and grabbed one when there was a deal. I've been wanting to try out full overhead speakers such as a 5.1.6 setup and this AVR does this with the help of a different amp for the two extra channels needed. I also wanted to try out Auro 3D.
I could eventually add three more subwoofers or bass kickers if wanted. There are options.
I recommend this AVR as I previously used the Denon S760H and was hooked from there. I use HEOS between the two AVR's which connect to each other wirelessly without delay in sound. Pretty cool. There's too much to write about this model but you should continue to research before your decision, and make sure to read reviews.
So far so good for me.

Customer lost due top one missing piece in order

I recently ordered the Denon AVR-X3800H 9.4 Channel 8K Ultra HD AV Receiver and it was missing one piece, the setup microphone. I contacted BB to let them know and to try and get this one small missing piece - their only response was to offer me a small discount (one third of the cost of me buying the missing piece) or to disassemble the installed amp and return it all to BB for a replacement - I let them know this was a big amount of work for me (a couple of hours to pack it all up and a few hours to get to the nearest BB location) so not worth the time and effort to get this missing piece.
THis was the only solution offerred so beware that purchasing from BB that if you are missing anything it means a big headache for you and not much of one for BB, and it is not my responsibility for the error, but I am the one to suffer the consequences -
BB just lost a great customer having made many purchases there in the last few years
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great All Around

My 10 year old AV Receiver couldn't handle the "handshake" between it and our new technology television. This Denon solved the problem, sounds even better and it's easy on screen instructions let a hack like me install it by myself. No issues so far and I really don't expect any!
