Cool light! I had about one week of use, and for the price it was a great product. Unfortunately the white light stopped working after a week. The red still works but its not practical for me to carry it only to use the red light.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this light for my flight bag as an emergency backup in case of electrical failure in airplane.
Use the second one I bought (at the same time) daily for around the house projects as an easy to clip on my cap light source.
Only issue was that a cover and o-ring fell off when I first opened the package. Coast customer service took care of it immediately. Thanks!

Handy light in a small package. Very bright at high level, and good general light at low level, plus a good red light if you need to preserve your night vision. The LED swivels 180 degrees, so it can easily be pointed where needed. The handy clip allows you to secure it to a pocket or safety vest or the bill of your hat. Although it is lightweight, I don't use it on the bill of my hat as it's heavy enough to pull the bill down. It also has 4 small but strong magnets built into the clip. Very handy for working on cars, etc. I bought one several months ago, and liked it so well that I bought two more. I keep one at work, I gave one to my wife (she clips it to a pocket in her purse), and the third is on the refrigerator door (always handy!). The light uses 2 AAA batteries. However, I don't think it has any option for a rechargeable battery pack. That would be the one improvement that I would like to see.

This is a great little flashlight. I've now have 5 of them. It's clever form factor allows it to be used in a variety of situations including clipped to your hat visor or shirt pocket, or placed on a shelf with the beam aimed right where you need it. I keep one on my nightstand because the red beam preserves my night vision if I have to get up in the middle of the night. You just have to put your hand over the lamp as you click past the first white beam setting.

I have had a number of these over the past several years and the only complaint I can offer is that when people "borrow" them - I never seem to get them back! Just enough light to illuminate the task at hand without displaying to the world. As a medic - I am sure most will understand this is a GOOD thing. Coast stands behind their warranty - even in these "low-end" lights. Trust me - these are capable little performers!
