Good for night use

This the 2nd and 3rd HX4 lights I have bought. I find the Red light feature especially useful when doing reports in a vehicle. Still have my original but the rubber switch cover came off. Still useful just not in wet weather.

I’ve seen reviews saying it wasn’t durable. It’s plenty durable. It’s also plenty waterproof. It’s perfect for a small flashlight, although it’s not perfect if you want it for the red light. I wish they made a version with red light only or at least the red light comes on first. You have to cycle thru the white light to get to the red light which makes it unusable if you’re in a group of people that have to preserve night vision.

Decent price, needs improvement

I have had this light for several years; since it first came out. It is 60-70% there, but needs improvement. My biggest complaint is the on/off switch is too exposed and turns on too easily on accident. I keep these in my pocket, backpack and truck console and they get inadvertently turned on and thus kill the battery so it is dead when you go to use it. If the on/off switch was recessed or had some ridges molded in around it, it would prevent this. I am sure there are other solutions to this problem. This literally just happened again tonight - my Father and I were walking out of the woods at dusk after hunting and I noticed his pocket was glowing. He had one of these that I gave him in his hunting coat pocket and it got turned on.
Also, as others have mentioned, the bottom or battery door should be flat so the light will stand on its own. The light could be brighter and have a little more focused light.
For the price it is OK, and I have not found anything better on the market. The concept is great and it is a handy little light. It just needs the aforementioned improvements.
