This was a warranty issue. Service was great. They made it extremely easy to get defective light replace. Received replacement within two weeks of first contacting support.

I originally purchased a g26 because of its simplicity and ruggedness. After a couple of months use, i purchased a few more for cars boat and cottage. When the first one finally died I followed the warrantee procedure and received a new one within a week.

The G26 is a little but very bright - brighter that many standard size units, and very light, running only on a couple AAs. The components are well made, heady duty aluminum body, in league with high-quality units like mag-lite. Not the only COAST flashlight I own, but probably the handiest. :)
