Great product! I carry my PX1 every day in my job as a plant operator and can't even guess how many times a day it gets pulled out of my pocket. It's wonderful for reading gauges in some places where you wouldn't be able to read them without a light. It's tough also. It gets dropped, greasy, wet, hot, cold, etc., and is really bright for a light that runs on three triple A batteries. It also, hands down, carries the absolute best warranty in the business! Customer service? Also the best ever. Thank you all soo much!
Fine device. Worth four stars for Coast’s customer service alone. Had an issue with my flashlight and Coast quickly and easily took care of it, vastly exceeding my expectations.
I bought the PX1 for work a few years back, as I would get up during pre-daylight hours to retrieve equipment left on water valves, hydrants, and meters. It was fantastic for not only seeing the area I needed to get to, but for any cars seeing me while out in the dark. I just started using it for some light painting photography and it's awesome!! Long battery life, and great light as needed. Definitely a 5 star flashlight.
I just bought two of these PX1 flashlights (one for my wife). I had one for years that never had any problems, but I set it on my car trunk and lost it. The new PX1 is much brighter, and it still has the tough metal case, focusing of the beam, and dual brightness settings, that I loved in my first one. It uses 3 common inexpensive AAA batteries, and it runs many hours. For me, this is the best flashlight made. Lifetime warranty (if you don't lose it!)
I bought this light back in 2017 (i think), so I've had it a while. I bought it as a utility/defense flashlight. As such, it is part of my EDC with my knife and handgun.
My three favorite features are as follows: 1) The light is powerful in dimly lit places. The beam floods very wide, but has a great focus. The battery life is good. Ive changed batteries twice since purchasing it (probably runs about 6 hours continuoisly, never tested it.) 2) It is durable. I've dropped it many times. It has scuffed a bit after landing on pavement, but no impact on performance. It has gotten wet many times with no issues. Just a few scratches, same great light! 3) It is compact and discreet. When I carry this light, I can carry it on my belt or in my pocket. Either way, it is small enough to carry comfortably. It also doesnt draw attention. Which is nice.
Now here are the issues. 1) If any sand or grit gets in the twist-to-focus area it will make a sound and sometimes grind up a bit. Nothing worth complaining about, though. 2) Sometimes the clip comes off of the casing releasing the light from my belt. This usually happens if I sit down in a car with lots of bolstering. Just be aware it may run away from you if you're not careful.
