It is a bright flashlight that is easy to carry in your pants or coat pocket, and the batteries last reasonably long. However, I need a flashlight where the batteries that can last 24 hours at low power, when I stumble around at home or in the garage, on a a night-hike late at night, and I don't want to ruin my night vision with a really bright light, and can't be changing batteries in the middle of the night. This PX-1 flashlight has three modes: 1-Click is Medium power, 2-Clicks is High power, and 3-Clicks is Low power. This order is Confusing ! This means I have to click 3 times to get into Low power, which is the opposite of how I wish this light was set up; it would be nice if 1-click turned on Low-power, 2-Clicks was Medium power, and 3-clicks was High Power. This would be good for a Stealth flashlight, a Recon flashlight, a Night Hiker flashlight, a Flight Cockpit flashlight, and a Map-Reader Flashlight, and possible for an Astro-Photographer's Flashlight, all of which require low light at first click. It is true that Police, Fire, Search-and-Rescue and First-Responders will want a flashlight that is High power on 1-click, but that is a different Mission, a different purpose, and a different customer. So, there should be two types of pocket flashlights: A Stealth-Recon Flashlight (SR-1) that starts out on Low-power, with a 4-times increase in power with each of 3 or 4 or 5 clicks, . . . and a First-Responder Flashlight (FR-1) that starts out at high-power, and then gets 4-times dimmer with each click. I am looking forwarding to ordering a few of your new, hopefully soon to be released "Stealth-Recon Flashlights" (SR-1) that will provide light for 24 hours continuously on Low-power. Thank you! So, now please get to work on creating a Stealth-Recon Flashlight (SR-1) that starts out with 1-Click giving very low light and long life, and with a 4-times increase in power on each click, with four (4) clicks or modes. You might study a "ThruNite LED Flashlight Archer 2A V3 " flashlight to see how a low-light, long-burning flashlight might be made.

All too often, a company will advertise “lifetime warranty” only to renege for some crazy reason. That’s not the case with Coast. My flashlight, a PX-1, failed after five years. I wrote to Coast and sent a picture. Without further prodding, they notified me that a no charge shipment was on it’s way. Sure enough, a brand-new flashlight arrived. I highly recommend Coast products, not only for their quality but also their customer service.

Flashlights are very durable and powerful for their size. I have a couple of different sizes and use them a lot. Coast warranty is very good on the policy!

Awesome light. The upgrade to dual power is sweet but the rechargeable battery isn't included which is a minor drawback. Other than that it's a great light from a great company!
