The basic advantage here is price. Most color cartridges run out at about the same time, so buying them together makes sense, at least to me. BTW: In printing Photoshopped RAW/JPG local high school sports images, I'm getting about 500-550 images per color cartridge from my HP M452 series printer. The color renditions are superb.
I always recommend that users use preferred original product in their printers. It's just not worth the difference to purchase refilled cartridges. You don't get the good quality prints and it gums up your printer.
I always buy hp ink & toners but... when my old color laser printer died I ended up with this printer which I love but: the cartridges triples in price from my old printer. I was ready to cry when I found out how much the new cartridges were. I use the printer a lot pictures, calendars, scrapbooks, etc. I guess I will have to stop some of my projects. Why are these cartridges so much more expensive than other my other laser cartridges? I looked up cartridges for my old printer and some others and the price is about the same as they were before.
