I use this mouse pad with a Logitech Performance Mouse MX which uses Darkfield second generation laser tracking technology. It works flawlessly on this mousepad. This pad has a very smooth surface and I don't recommend it for the older ball mice. My concerns when I received this mouse mat are that one of the two mouse pads I bought does not lay perfectly flat and has some inherent curvature to it. [...] but I have had a phonebook sitting on it for two weeks and it still won't lay flat. I was hoping for a thinner 2.5mm thick mousepad but this is one of the older style 5mm thickness pads. It would be nice if Staples would include the thickness information in their item listing.

The mouse pad was very nice in every way good quality nice weight and texture great price. But the strong chemical odor wouldn't go away and eventually my whole house smelled like it! I had to return it.
