Its a mouse pad - nothing more nothing less. Works the same as any other mouse pad. Once the distinct aroma of old tires goes away it will probably be a very good and odorless mouse pad.

This product had a strong chemical (formaldehyde?) smell when I first opened it. I suggest letting it air out for a few days before using it. The color is awesome though!
