I like the natural and neutral vibe of this mousepad. The gold on it is very subtle and I'm good with that. We've had it a few weeks now and it's holding up well. This is a family computer and it gets a lot of use between gaming and personal use. Plus I have terribly sweaty hands but that doesn't seem to bother it any unlike fabric mousepads. Plus it doesn't seem to be showing any naturally occurring dirt or grime. I'm happy with the purchase and I would buy it again.
