I use a corded mouse and needed a surface to use it with. This pad does the job nicely. It is stable and easy to find among the papers.

I have bought so much in staples. There is always something wrong. Especially with customer service. That is the worst part. Don't worry. No one knows how to properly train their most valuable asset.
