Closer to perfect

I have used three other label printers in recent years, one from Epson and two of the standalone Brother models. This is by far the most useful and versatile. Working with a software through the PC has not always been simple, but I have been able to accomplish pretty much whatever I needed to for the labels in my home.
The combination of the software, PC, and printer allow you to use the fonts available on the PC, but I have not been able to figure out a way to use a couple of the fonts onboard the printer. I've been a big fan of Florida and Adams, and have had to use substitutes. A little annoying, but certainly no tragedy.
If you really want to get labels looking exactly the way you want, this printer comes closest. I have found it to be very useful and quite reliable.
The final challenge to me is to get more colors in Brother's labels. No green on white, folks? Seriously? I actually had to go to China to get them from a third party, not my favorite "go-to" choice.
A little background on me: located in a suburb of Rochester New York. Using label makers for 10 to 15 years. Current product is used to label parts drawers for hardware, binder spines and covers, electrical switch panel and wall plates.
I would recommend that friends interested in getting a labeler consider those available from Brother first. There really is no way to just say "buy this particular one." If that were the case, why would brother sell any more than just this particular product?

You never forget your first P Touch

This label maker replaces a Brother P=20 that I have had since the 1990's. I upgraded to the model with the blow-moulded case for protection when I use this in the field. I am an HVAC tech and this tools is used extensively to label circuits, loope, breakers, and switches, etc. Very nice improvements over the last 30 years!

Works awesome, heavy on the batteries, but has a plug in, that is very useful. Takes all tape sizes- most important for my job.
