Needs a Clamp

Due to a physical limitation, it is impossible for me to use any pedal device (trainers, bicycles, et al) with complete comfort and results, so I can't be totally objective, I'm certain. That being said, I rate the Total Gym trainer as high as any device I've ever used. Pedal straps are a nuisance for me on any device, so I won't complain about them. So, claiming neutrality in all the mentioned regards, allow me to offer one criticism of the Cyclo Trainer, that being about its attachment to the incline. I would be happier with the device if it was equipped with a physical attachment such as a clamp or other quick-action device to prevent side-to-side movement, which, while small, is enough to be irritating to me since I cannot maintain prefect alignment of my feet at all times. Just something to think about since the device is otherwise nicely functional in all situations I've encountered thus far.

Needs improvement

My cyclotrainer is still working fine- for now.
The display however, times out and the resistance resets to level 1 upon next use (re. Since it's battery powered, I expect the batteries won't last very long.
Also, I took off the display module to look inside after a few uses and there is little chunks of rubber from the belt scattered around the inside of the unit. I don't expect that the belt will last very long and I understand that it's not a replaceable item.

Another Great Attachment - CycloTrainer

I thank God for providing me with the resources to purchase another great attachment for my Total Gym XLS. I had a 60-day trial and I’m totally satisfied. It’s expensive, but it’s cheaper than purchasing a Trek bike. When I was a member of a gym, I really enjoyed the cycling classes, however I hated the uncomfortable seats. There is no seating issue, because you are resting on your glide board as you cycle. I appreciate the fact that I can do circuit training, which allows me to blast more calories. The DVD that accompanies the CycloTrainer teaches you how to get maximum benefit of this well built machine. I also like the fact that there is a battery operated display that helps me keep a record of my distance and it motivates me to cycle a little faster each time.
I pray that this CycloTrainer last beyond the 6-month warranty.

The Total Gym was one oh the best gifts my husband and I have purchased. Now with the Cyclo Trainer added, it's complete. I am fighting cancer but I can still use the Cyclo Trainer without wearing myself out. I just lay and go at my own pace. I believe it has given me more strength to fight this health challenge. Thank you Total Gym for this innovative addition to a great workout. It's great!

I am so happy I broke down and brought this attachment. I’ve only had it a month and see a big difference. But, I was on it 5 days a week for an hour as I looked at my soaps. Very happy with this attachment.

Better than the stripped-down model

I originally bought the smaller, less-expensive model of this attachment. However, I quickly learned that I was going to need the features offered by this model—specifically the timer and the resistance level adjustment. That smaller model doesn't offer as many levels of resistance, and none of the levels that are available provide very much resistance.
This model fulfils both requirements. Being able to set the timer and not worry so much about the clock is a huge improvement. As for resistance levels, this version offers 16, with real resistance at the upper end. I expect to be getting plenty of use out of this attachment.
However, there is room for improvement.
First, I don't detect much difference in resistance from levels 1–7. This means that this model has at best only about half the promised levels of useful resistance. (It's possible my legs are in better shape than I think, but I've been hunkering down for most of the last several months like most other folks, so that doesn't seem likely.)
Second, the user manual could do a better job of explaining the parts of the display. Presumably the distance indicates miles, and the speed indicates miles per hour—but the manual does not specify this and, third, there are no markings on the display itself.
Fourth, an on/off button on the display panel would be useful. Yes, it turns off by itself eventually, but there doesn't appear to be an option for setting the automatic shut-off time; the ability to shut it off sooner would help prolong battery life.
Still, overall this model is worth the extra money.

Needs to be adjustable for tall people.

Got mine a couple of days ago (to use with my XLS). It's a great workout for a simple device - but I do have two gripes:
#1 - the computer takes "C" sized batteries. Nothing uses Cs any more. I had to make a trip to the store to buy batteries, because the Cs are the only size I don't use for anything else.
#2 - The support leg needs to be adjustable for distance out/in from the end of the Total Gym platform. I am a tall guy (6'5") and with the slider bench at the bottom of the frame, my knees are bent to the point that pedaling is uncomfortable / difficult. I remedied the problem by placing a length of a 2x6 across the slide stops on the frame. This moved up the bench a few inches, making a much more comfortable position for my long legs. It wasn't a hard modification, but it would nice if I could adjust the attachment further away... or if the slider board had a series of holes where it could be pinned up a little higher on the frame rails when using the bike.
