🎮 How It’s Been Performing
I tested it during a short outage (thanks, summer storms 🌩️) and still had plenty of time to save my work and shut down safely. Honestly, I didn’t even realize the power had cut until I saw the alert. That’s how seamless it was.

Great for peace of mind- super heavy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love having the APC Back UPS 1000 for peace of mind and I already feel more secure knowing my devices are protected. Even though I haven’t had to rely on it during a power outage yet, the idea behind this product is exactly what I wanted. It is built to keep computers, routers, and other electronics running smoothly if the power goes out and the automatic voltage regulation gives me confidence that my devices are protected from surges and fluctuations.
The LCD display is a huge plus because it makes it easy to see battery levels and connected load at a glance. I also like that it comes with PowerChute software to help with automatic PC shutdown if there is an extended outage. Having eight outlets is very convenient and gives me plenty of space for my setup. The alarms and status notifications are thoughtful features and I appreciate that they can be muted if needed.
One downside is that it is heavy, but that also makes it feel solid and reliable. For the level of protection it offers, I think the weight is worth it. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and feel confident that when I do need it, it will perform exactly as promised.

Brand is super reliable and the item is built to last and is durable. Highly recommend especially if you work from home like myself. Works great and gives you more time on your devices in situations where you lose power.

Reliable Protection + Easy Mac Setup

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed the APC Back-UPS 1000 to protect my new iMac (2023 M3, macOS Sequoia), which I run from my office, in an RV. Living in a rural, desert area, storms and electrical outages are a concern. Setup was quick and easy. Once I plugged the UPS in and connected my iMac (including the included USB cable), macOS instantly recognized the UPS—no extra software was required.
In System Settings > Energy, a UPS menu appeared showing real-time battery percentage and options to configure auto-shutdown. I was able to set my Mac to shut down automatically after 5 minutes on battery or if the UPS drops below 25%. This integration is built into macOS and works seamlessly.
The unit itself feels solid and provides peace of mind against voltage fluctuations common in RVs. It offers both surge-only and battery-backed outlets, so I can keep my essentials (computer, external drive, router) running during short outages and know the Mac will shut down safely during longer ones.
The LCD display is clear, the self-test function is simple, and there’s even a mute button if the alert beeping gets annoying. The only caution is not to plug another surge protector into the UPS—stick with direct connections or a plain power strip if you need extra outlets.
Overall, I’m very happy with this UPS. It was truly plug-and-play with my Mac, gives me confidence working in my fifth wheel, and provides reliable backup and surge protection.

Great back up for weather emergencies!

We recently experienced a power outage due to monsoons here in the valley and Its finals week online via laptop. having this power back up worked out great. The charge is strong and fast, set up is very easy! I was able to continue my coursework while using . I give this a five out of five. I recommend this for all households.
