Great for Kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This new Echo Show 5 Kids is exactly the same hardware as the regular Echo Show 5 (2nd Gen, 2021), but with a greenish Chameleon color. This Kids version comes with 1 year of Kids+ subscription, kid-friendly Alexa responses, and parental controls enabled by default. Parents can configure settings, like what authorized contacts are available for video calls, and setting time limits on video watching.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded my kids old dot to this new echo 5 show and now they won’t get off of it ! They love the fact that it reads them bedtime stories , they can send messages to my others echos from there room and listen to all the music they want . They set their own alarm for the morning now . Very useful tool for when they do their homework , Alexa can help them with a lot of stuff faster than I could . I can drop in on them from my living room
Or cell phone when ever I want . Great product I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a smart device .

Amazon for the win

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Amazon echo show 5 kids is so cool! First off the bright colors really draw you in. Set up is super easy and takes just a few minutes. After your in its exploring! So many awesome features. Not only is it an alarm clock but I can drop in on that device from my phone and right there the call starts! The content is meant for kids. So I'd you ask for music it's pulling Disney and same for the stories. I did drop a star because it does glitch. Changing the home wallpaper it kept defaulting to grey, I had to redo it 6x for it to finally take. Not only that but it gets stuck and pauses. Overall very minor things and still super satisfied!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happy with the freedom this Echo Show 5 gives the kids. They can talk to grandma and grandpa whenever they like. I can limit their screen times for shows, and movies. It is easy to set up their profiles through the parental controls. We loved that it came with one Free year of Amazon Kids +. Some of our favorite features are the, voice activation, they can set their own alarm, and the ease of parental controls. We would suggest this to other parents.

First, it comes with a free YEAR of Amazon Kids +, which provides access to thousands of videos, games, movies, music, etc! Our kids are loving that! How awesome is that?!?! You can set bedtime reminders, Alexa can read your kids a bedtime story, you can activate it to turn your smart lights and other smart items on and off. We (parents) have to approve who is allowed on their contact list for video calls, etc. This really comes with all the security I want to my kids and the ease and convenience I have come to depend on from Alexa products.

Great idea, needs work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the idea of the Echo Show but it needs work for kids. You have to ask questions very specifically and the apps/programs seem very fickle. Mostly we've used it as a clock and to play music. Most of the things the kids ask it to do gets a, "Sorry I can't do that" response so they get frustrated... even just the "Fart" command isn't working which may just be a setting we need to adjust but I haven't figured it out yet. So far it doesn't seem like the screen is utilized much... if we connect with Elmo there's just a small picture of Elmo up in the corner, not an animated interaction and Barbie was just a picture of arrows on a pink background.
Pros: The potential is there and if you/kids know exactly what you want to do and how to activate it then you're golden. Screen is a good resolution and set-up was easy. Makes a great clock and speaker.
Cons: Kids (and some adults) struggle with getting it to do what they want... or anything at all. Screen interaction is limited in all the things we've attempted.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a pretty solid little device. It looks good, it feels like the build quality is solid and it isn't enormous. It isn't as nice as the full size Echo Shows in content, screen quality and sound quality , but for kids’ use is ok.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have the large Echo, 4 Echo Dots, an Echo Spot, and now the Echo Show 5 -- I love them all! The Echo Show 5 was easy to get set up and is great to use. I have it by my bed (don't need an alarm clock, we're retired!) and I really like the clock face. It's nice and big, easy to read with my old eyes. I have it set to dim down at night so it won't cast too much light in our bedroom, but it's still very readable.
I would recommend this to a friend!
