Leaking batteries.

In an emergency flashlight for 1 year and has not been used, date 2025. Leaked and destroyed the flashlight. In my Philips transistor radio (50 years old) for less than a year, date Dec 2022 and leaked so bad that I almost cried. I have never had batteries leak in it ever. I used to always trust Duracell. I will never ever buy your junk batteries again. I will likely never hear from you about this, sad.

Corroding battery

I believed the marketing of the Duracell batteries until recently. Had the battery corrode on the negative end of a single battery AA battery Cree LED flashlight. When I needed it it would not work. Had a difficult time removing the battery and cleaning up the flashlight. As I was prying out the light the light lit up so the battery was not dead, just leaking. The way button works I don't see a slow drain on the battery to have caused the battery to go bad. Had used the flashlight a month before this and it was fine and bright.

I have just tried out AA batteries I have had in storage for about 12 months. Each one is dead. They have a monitor that you press on one side and it doesn't even register.

They seem to leak worse than other brands

We stopped buying Duracell several years ago because they had leaked in our remotes and flashlights. We decided to try them again and after just a few months they started leaking again in our tv remote.

They eventually leak just like the cheap brands, so why pay more?

Very Leaky Batteries
on September 22, 2016

Over the past 5 years my experience in Florida has been of substantial electrolyte leakage and some damage to equipment. The competitor warrants no leaks from his batteries. The batteries perform well except for leakage and damaging equipment.
