does not recognize its authentic labels

Impossible to load labels - the device does not recognize its authentic labels, for a few seconds status updates to Labels recognized, and then to empty - hence not possible to use the device. I have tried 4 different rolls to see if it's about the particular roll - no chance. Despite it is loaded with Dymo authentic labels, I can not use the printer anymore (gave up after several support calls, etc - not worth the fight. Stay away!

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and for letting you down. When the labels are not inserted correctly, we recommend watching our Youtube videos on our channel on how to insert them properly.
The holes between each label and the next are supposed to be on your left side when you are looking at the printer. The sticker has to face down while the backing paper is facing up.

Stay away from the LabelWriter 550.

Stay away from the LabelWriter 550. If you have a 450, cherish it and love it. The 550 will only take labels with the RFID chip on the roll that Dymo sells for ridiculous amounts. I'll repeat once more. Stay away from the LabelWriter 550.

I have just had an unexpected breach in my use of the Dymo Labelwriter Turbo 450. I have used it for years with great success. Suddenly it was nonresponsive. I installed my back up newer version and found the same thing. The company on asking for help, suggested that I should uninstall and reinstall the program. The program download is absolute garbage. The program is non friendly. I Dislike everything about it. I have a computer and label maker to make my life easier. NOT SO NOW!

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please know that we have two different kinds of software, that is DYMO Connect and DYMO Label. The DYMO Label Software is our old software that still works even though it is obsolete. You can download either one on our website.
To install the version that you prefer, please go to dymo.com>Support>Download Software>Not Sure Which Software To Choose>Compatibility Chart.

TERRIBLE PRODUCT

I love Dymo labels and have used them for years. When my old Dymo label quit working earlier this year, I upgraded to the Dymo LabelWriter 5XL. I have had nothing but issues with it!!! I only used authentic Dymo labels and continue to get "not in printer" errors when in fact labels are in the printer. Power off and back on over and over again and nothing happens. This is unacceptable and I would NOT recommend this product to anyone unless you want a LOT of stress in your life. I'm too busy at work to wait on this label printer to decide to work. Researching other products for a replacement.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by our product. Please make sure that the DYMO labels used have a white inner core with DYMO written in blue. We recommend power cycling the printer first by removing the labels, power and USB cables. Press the power button 15 times then connect the power cable, insert the labels making sure they are aligned all the way to the left. Once the light is solid and you are able to feed one blank label, please connect the USB cable and try to print a label.

Buy anything else

I work on a ship at sea, pretty poor that I have a bunch of blue label boxes that are essential useless, spend the extra money and buy anything else. To top it off, as soon as the new labels were loaded it printed off 14 new labels and a bunch of ABC test sheets, yes the app was open and there was no way to readily cancel.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you are using a LabelWriter 5 series printer and you have our old DYMO labels, kindly reach our to us directly so that we can assist you. It is possible that you may have clicked on the print button multiple times, thereby sending multiple print jobs to the queue that ended up printing as soon as you connected the printer.
Please make sure the print queue is empty before connecting the printer to the computer.

Piece of crap

Changed to a bigger sized label now it does not recognize the the labels at all unfortunately, I purchased three more units for gifts to my family members, total piece of crap and completely regret it because there is no fix for a recognizing the labels I will never buy from this company again

absolute garbage, far far FAR worse than the off brand and 20 times the price. The fact that these are the only option means we have gotten rid of our DYMO printers and will never buy another.

Shame on you Dymo! You had such a great product for a long time. You went and ruined it! This RFID on the label thing is a JOKE! Who cares if we jam the machine we purchased. If we want to use 3rd party labels, it should be on us. Not a decision for DYMO! Shameful!
