02/02/18 - I found the Tripp-Lite 8 outlet surge protector modem/coax/internet protection RJ-45 to be well made and present an excellent value to cost/protection ratio. Appropriate spacing of the outlets for use of small power supplies, and phoneline and cable coax protection against voltage surges use accommodates a variety of plug-in requirements. Very pleased with the overall construction of the unit and the length of the power cord, with the flat wall plug. Tks! Roger Bell USA

The high number of outlets, the long cord, ethernet, coax and phone protection features make this an excellent choice for the price. The grounded and protected lights are also greatly appreciated as well as the replacement warranty upon burn-out and connected equipment insurance. The extra spacing for transformer plugs is also appreciated. However, the plug head is a bit poorly designed. For permanent installations, it is probably fine, but for someone who likes to move the strip from place to place, the slim plug head can make unplugging difficult (and poses somewhat of a danger of electric shock.) Although the pre-bent cord exit for the plug head is a nice thought, it can make life difficult if one wants to have the cord run in the opposite direction from the bend.
