Great for my homemade birdbath fountain

I have had this running out on the patio for about two weeks in a home-made birdbath/fountain configuration I made from some recycled plastics. For me, the pump works best in bright sunlight, but continues with less force when it is a bit cloudy or nearing sundown, until eventually it goes intermittently. Don't expect a huge gusher. Some provided nozzles can shoot up small streams, but I don't use these because the wind would carry the water out away from my fountain base. I use the wide nozzle, which has the effect of creating a "babbling brook" effect. Birds see the water is moving, and that is enough to interest them.
One thing that surprised me is that the instructions do not mention that the solar panel comes in the box with a thin protective plastic film, just like a lot of electronic gadgets. You need to remove this film if you expect the sunlight to reach the panel at full strength. Not only do the instructions not mention this, but there is no marking on the film to give a clue, and nothing to help you start peeling it off. It actually was a bit difficult for me to start peeling it off. I wonder how many people write bad reviews about this product simply because they did not realize they were supposed to peel off the protective film.

I was disappointed, pump was

I was disappointed, pump was too weak to replace the water fountain/pump, (which failed) that I bought from you just 13-14 months ago. I ended up having to buy a shallower bowl type to create a new water fountain that this solar pump could be used as a shallow birdbath.

Love my little fountain in

Love my little fountain in this birdbath. Needed to peel plastic sheet off solar panel and fully charge panel - works likes a charm. Clouds and shade hamper the flow but totally worth it when panel is in sunshine. Also, FYI, it might take a bit to find position and which sprayer head to use so fountain doesn’t spray all the water out. I used the head with fewest holes and enlarged the holes to decrease the pressure.

The pump works, as long

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pump works, as long as it's not hot outside. During the hot months it will run for about a minute until the heat overwhelms the solar panel and it shuts down. You can cool it off, but after that it just does the same thing. I got this for a birdbath. which was most needed during the hot months. But it only worked consistently in the cooler temps in Fall.
