My husband and I share an office and this chair fits both of us. I can put the arms up when I am sewing he can have them down when he's working on his computer. It can raise or lower easily and is very comfortable. You can sit in it for hours and it doesn't bother you.

Love the chair! Assemblers note: 1) I had to wedge the rocker assembly to force the seat back to suit myself. Without doing that the seat is balanced to stay tilted forward. 2) when you assemble the chair the arms will likely be mismatched on their respective heights. I encountered this and noticed that other purchasers had the same complaint. Solution: after the chair is fully assembled loosen the 2 bolts that attach the hinge to the seat on the side that the arm is lower and force the seatback back while you re-tighten the bolts. Then loosen the bolts that attach the hinge to the seatback force the seatback forward as you re-tighten the bolts. Do the opposite to the side with the higher arm. This corrected the problem. Otherwise happy customer.
