this has been a *very important* addition to our kitchen. my partner and i researched it quite a bit and decided against the newer digitized models because we like the sturdiness of the older models and prefer manual switches to programmable options. at least 1 out of 3 meals a day are smoothies now, we've upped our salad dressing game, and we can easily drink a salad's worth of fresh veg without any chewy spinach or kale getting stuck at the bottom of a glass.

We bought this blender for my special need's son. We wanted to feed him real foods, but a "typical" blender isn't strong enough to blend the food smooth enough that it won't clog his feeding tube. The Vitamix blends his food perfectly, and we haven't had a clog yet! I never thought I'd say this, but this blender literally changed my life -- and more importantly, my son's life.

We received our blender quickly after ordering with no issues at all. My daughter is fed via G-tube, and I want to give her real food. It must be pureed down to a thin consistency. Our Vitamix works wonderfully for that, and it is so simple to use! Even clean up is quick. I don't have a lot of time to devote to preparing food, and I have no doubt that most other brands would not be nearly as quick or easy to use (especially since the one I had been using was not as good).
