I used this when at my sister in laws house and had to have the same blender when we returned home. I have had many blenders in the past, but this is the first blender that can easily handle foods plus ice and pulverize it into a drinkable shake. Love it! I also don't have to put all the pieces in the dishwasher every time it is used...it's so easy to clean.

I procrastinated spending this much money on a blender for a couple years before I finally bit the bullet and bought this Vitamix 5200! Since it's my first it is hard to compare but based on power, simplicity, ease of use and durability so far I give it a 5 out of 5 rating. I've been blending a lot of vegetables from the garden; cabbage, carrots, apples, avocados, bananas, lettuce, spinach, etc, as well as almonds, sunflower seeds and walnuts. I'm amazed at how easy this thing is to use and to clean! And it's classed up my eating habits and an attractive looking appliance in my kitchen!
