It’s a decent blender but not a great one. It’s got a powerful motor and all but the food doesn’t circulate well. When I make my smoothies I have to stick a knife down the side and agitate it to get the stuff on top down to the blades. I’ve experimented with different recipes and it always forms an air bubble around the blades.

Hi! The Vitamix does have a very powerful motor, which will cause air pockets due to that power. This is easily resolved by the use of the tamper, which will accelerate the flow of food through the blades.
While the machine is running and with the lid firmly in place, insert the tamper through the lid plug opening and begin working it in the four corners of the container. As the food travels around the side of the container, the tamper directs it right into the blades. If there is an air pocket around the blade, the tamper will release the air pocket and create a continuous flow of food through the blades. Please do not use a knife. If you are in need of a new tamper, please call us at 1-800-848-2649, we would be happy to send one out to you.

I usually never do reviews. However, I rely on vitamix everyday for every meal due to not being able to swallow whole food. Vitamix is the best, hands down. The last 5200 I had went for 15 years and used everyday. I think I can actually repair it and fix it too. Great product. Nothing else blends as fine.

I'm loving my Vitamix and use it everyday to make smoothies and healthy snacks! It's easy to use and a bit more quiet than my last blender. I'm super pleased with it over all. I recommend buying the tamper holder also. It's pricey, but so convenient and handy to have right there and to store easily.
