I love this blender. I almost returned because it’s very expensive and really I wasn’t sure it would be worth it. But I ended up keeping it. It has made me so creative in making smoothies! My old blender died and I was looking for a blender that works well and that would last a long time. Their warranty policy seems very good. For smoothies, the consistency is so much better in the Vitamix than other blenders I’ve tried. My main advice is use much less liquid on smoothie recipes. I find it liquifies very well and using less liquid has helped me get the cold yet flavorful consistency I’ve been looking for. Also the tip of starting on low and turning to high quickly has helped! Great purchase.

So far, a great blender for making smoothies. Every day, my wife uses almost a pint of frozen berries, fresh yogurt and oat milk. The blender handles it like a champ and she especially appreciates the tamper. We haven’t had much chance to use it for anything else but if it makes quick work of that rock-solid clump of frozen berries, I’m optimistic about the other uses.

After about a month of daily use, it seems like the blade slips out of the base while blending. This makes blending things much more of a nuisance since I now feel like I need to hold the container down the whole time. Very disappointing.

Our, very old, one finally gave up and decided to succumb to the ’worn out’, retirement farm. We thought about sending it to the factory and pay for rehabilitation, but that was too costly and it made more sense to purchase a new one from the factory. We’re in those ’golden age’ brackets now so this machine will probably out live us.
