I love my Vita-mix, bought my first 6 years ago after coveting my mother-in-laws for years. I knew I would love it but didn't realize how much. I can sauce and soups, make nut milks, and fresh gravies, sups and sauces, and smoothies so my mixer see's a lot of action. I quickly realized that after my children moved out I needed the single serving cups with the small mixer attachment which was an added expense - but really made life simpler once I made the purchase. the Vita-mix doesn't do everything, but it does A LOT!
You will never need another type of blender, and you will only need one or two in your lifetime. It was a big expense for me at the time, however - I make everything from scratch, so the cost savings came quickly in time and quality of product - allowing me to make even more from scratch like nut milks, fruit leathers, vegan cheese and hummus, etc. If you don't cook from scratch, if you don't make your own foods - this blender might be overkill for you, (unless you just have money to spend and like the highest quality things), but for me - it was a MUST.
I still use my original Vita-mix, this purchase was a gift. I have given a Vita mix to each of my children once they had their first child and got serious about the food they eat - it has been well received every time.
Pros: Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Recipe Enhancement, Power
Our family purchased the Vitamix 5200 in December after reviewing several online reviews and video comparisons. The Vitamix performed better than competitors in our opinion based upon video examples. I have used a bullet in the past to blend items, but the consistency was not very smooth. I have used the Vitamix to make butternut squash soup, a vegan cheese sauce, and sauces to use in recipes for casseroles. The consistency is super smooth and I love it!! My only complaint is that the container has some staining from the use of turmeric, which I use in several dishes. There is a slight yellow tint to my blender container. Although superficial, I am very happy with my purchase.
Pros: Speed of Service, Texture Quality, Easy to use
I use my Vitamix mostly every day. The 10+ year old one was so good that I bought the same model. It performs perfectly! The old one is now at a 2nd home - replaced an old Oster.
This thing is phenomenal. I love making smoothie bowls but could never get the consistency just right with old blenders. If I didn’t add enough liquid, it wouldn’t blend well enough so I’d have to add more liquid and it wouldn’t be think enough. But this baby can liquify anything. So quickly, so easily. I feel like a wiz in the kitchen now because I can use this to make smoothies, sauces, I never used to make my own sauces like come on. I debated this purchase for a while because it’s a bit over budget for me. I took a leap of faith and I’m so glad I did. Worth every penny, I’ll never go back to anything else.
Pros: Texture Quality, Easy to use, Product features, Power
I waited a long time before buying my Vitamix because I thought it was a bit to expensive. Now after six weeks I wouldn’t take anything for it and just this week I bought one for my sister.
Pros: Texture Quality, Durability, Recipe Enhancement, Power
Favorite appliance I have ever purchased! Well worth the money! And this model seems more powerful than the less expensive ones. Such a great purchase! I bought this for my daughter - I have had the same one for about 5 years and LOVE it!! It will chop through anything!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Vitamix about 2 months ago and I honestly couldn’t be happier. It was a bit of an investment for my household but worth it to say the least. The blender gets used at least once per day in my house and has converted us from eating fattening snacks to healthy alternatives like ice cream and smoothies.
