I pre-ordered the XM5's after owning a pair of XM4's so I've had them for a few years now. The sound cancelling is excellent, the mics are great for conferencing, the auto reconfiguring is a fantastic feature. Having them on plane trips, in an office environment, or next to anything that hums is a miracle. That being said it has a few little things that could be better. The earcups are too shallow & the band is tight so wearing for a long time starts to hurt - I never experienced this with the previous XM4's, so I bought deeper earcup foam to mitigate it mostly. Also the mics would be great if they worked as an xbox mic when connected with a cable. It seems odd to have such advanced mic technology to have to use an inline mic. If these issues are resolved on the following models they would be unbeatable, but still definitely worth the purchase.

I bough this pair of headphones soon after they came out back in 2022 and I have been happy with them ever since...! The noise cancelling is excellent and the quality is very good once you adjust the sound with the equalizer.

This is a good set of headphones with great noise cancellation. It is very light and has a long battery life. There is a problem with slow connecting to my phone and occasionally they will disconnect for no reason.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bad touch panel

I've had this for a few years. The touch panel stopped working and made the headphones buzz which was very annoying so I had to remove the feature, but it sounds great.

I’ve been really impressed with the Sony WH-1000XM5. The noise cancelling is awesome for movies around the house and they’re also great for office use when you need to focus. I picked mine up second hand in near-new condition and they’ve been 100% worth it.
I think they’d be perfect for long-haul flights in business class with a lay-flat seat setup. My only real downside is they can feel a bit bulky in a window seat in economy when you’re trying to lean against the wall or get comfortable. Besides that, sound quality, comfort, and noise cancelling are all top tier.
I would recommend this to a friend!
