Does a decent Job

Overall the product does a good job. I live on a farm and have three dogs so my floors are always a mess. The product was initially hard to set up. Had to continue to remap the house about 5 times before it got it right. Love that I can set up what rooms I need vacuumed or mopped. Unfortunately it does seem to get stuck a lot with various codes. I would say about 2-3 times each cycle. I am unable to run run it when I’m not home because if I do it just sits stuck until I get home. It’s ok for me because I just usually run it at night. I think it gets stuck because of the amount of hair from the dogs. Otherwise when it does run it cleans pretty well.

Don’t waste your money

I spent the money because this looked like a good vacuum but in all reality it’s no better than a cheap one. It is nice it empties itself but it picks a small amount of what is actually on the floor. We sit here and watch it go over dirt and not pick it up. Very very disappointing and will not be buying another shark product. Right now it’s supposedly charging yet it’s been stuck on 5% for a week saying it’s not charging.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I see you mentioned that your robot is not quite picking up some of the debris in your home. Please can I recommend, if you haven't done so already, changing the suction level to "MAX" via the app. This will increase the suction on your robot and allow it to collect the remaining dust satisfactorily. I would like to make you aware that by using the "MAX" mode, your battery runtime will naturally decrease a lot faster as the robot is drawing more power. Also, I would encourage you to save your updated cleaning preferences in the settings. This way the robot will always run in the suction mode specified by you.

Best robot vacuum yet

Extraordinary cleaning tool. I've added screen shots to show that I've got just under 20 hours of cleaning time over about two weeks. This is my 4th vacuum robot but first that also mops.
First, set up - I had minor issues with pairing to the device due to security apps on my phone. My fault not the Shark, but I can see how this could bother someone. Still 5 stars
Mapping - freaking amazing. High fidelity map of our first floor that enables easily creating "No Go" or " No Mop" zones. The app allows you to verify the zones by having the robot travel their perimeter. I've had no issue creating zones that prevent mopping my carpets.
Cleaning - any robot can vacuum well and I've had several. It's the mopping that really surprised me. We have three kids ( all boys) and a dog. Over about two hours we can first thoroughly vacuum and then mop/ vacuum our high traffic areas.
Overall - set up and pairing might challenge some, but don't let that deter you from an amazing device. Mapping, vacuuming, and mopping features are excellent. 100% would buy again and would recommend to friends, family, or neighbors.

This is my first robot vacuum cleaner. We just replaced our old carpet with the new waterproof flooring. And we have some carpet runners down too. This works great. I have 3 very large dogs tgey are Newfoundlands so lots of fur. Plus 3 cats. I live in a rural area so I do not have internet so I can’t use the phone app features. I just hit the clean button and it works great. I do it once a day. I have had this for 2 weeks so far no issues at all. I have been recommending it to friends. I also love the mop feature. I run that when I’m home because it needs to be manually dumped.

Paid for it last week, received yesterday. Haven’t stopped watching it since.
We named her Addison.
She’s great on vacuum mode, but on mop mode (wet/dry model) she is awesome!
As a man who only appreciates orange power tools, (you know the brand) this may be better.
She’s everything that Shark promised.
And much quieter than I expected! The dishwasher is louder.
Definitely get the wet dry. I don’t even know why they sell a dry only. Maybe for carpet people? It does work good across rugs.

I think we've waited long enough for technology to mature that these things now just work. As an engineer I was skeptical about how well these vacuums may actually work. I was even more skeptical of the mopping function. But, I have to admit that this unit works great! Much better then I would have expected. The move to lidar is important and probably was the final piece that made this unit work as well as it does. There's not a lot of information on how to use the app, but if you just accept that you need to spend time playing with and learning new technology the app works just fine and has a lot of good features. The auto mapping of the house is quick and painless. I think you should plan to spend time adjusting rooms, adding zones, and carpets. It's a complicated problem to solve and if you just tackle these things one at a time over the first couple of weeks of owning the problem things work great. We added rooms first and then adjusted the size of the rooms. One thing that wasn't clear on the phone app is that you can zoom in pretty far to really adjust the room dimensions and this is key. We have rooms that adjust from carpet to tile and getting those adjusted correctly took a few passes with zoom in the app each time to adjust the line. Same thing with setting carpet areas and other zones. After a month of use we have all rooms, carpets, high traffic, and keep out zones mapped. Mopping wasn't documented very well and at the end of the day there's really no magic to it. Swap the dirt tray with the mopping tray, spin the unit on the stand and open up the app and it knows that it's mopping. To be honest this wasn't documented well at all prior to trying it and figuring it out; but, again if you accept that it's new technology and expect to have to tinker and adjust then you should find that you can make it work exactly as you want. One surprising thing is that it doesn't bug our dog. We have a 9.5 year old border collie who constantly attacks the non-robot vacuum but she sleeps right through "sharky". One final thought is it's supposed to work with Alexa. Tried to set that up but haven't made it work. Not a big deal for me as the phone app works between two different phones (my wifes and mine) seemlessly; so, to be honest haven't even spent time trying to finish setting it up. This has been a great product and I would highly recommend it based on our experience of using it over the past several months.

Life Saver

Let me start by saying we are an extreme pet household. WE HAD every bit of hesitation when it came to looking for a robot vacuum that wouldn't be just a waste of money. I have had previous shark products in the past as I find they do the best with dust. I currently have the duo lift away with the pet hair roll. And for being 8 months pregnant with a toddler, 4 dogs, 2 cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. Vacuuming is a daily daunting task, I've reached the point where I just cant keep up. So we took a leap of faith and went with the robot. Best decision I've made. Its helped significantly with my slack, and is doing an amazing job keeping everything off the floor I can finally walk around without shoes on. I love the fact that im able to set it on a schedule and just let it do its thing. Now Ill be emptying it more frequently just due to the sheer amount of dog hair that flows through these walls but I will take that any day over lugging the vacuum around for hours a day. Thank you Shark For helping make day to day life a less daunting task. I can only imagine how it'll be with two littles running around. Glad to have this on my team.

Great little helper, but here’s what’s missing

The Shark Matrix Plus 2 in 1 Vacuum & Mop with XL self-empty base is a great cleaning robot and I would recommend it. However, there are some important feature limitations to be aware of. First here’s the good stuff. This is our first robot, and we have been impressed with its cleaning capabilities. Setup is not complicated, and the app is easy to navigate as it helps you with each step. Super impressed with how quickly and accurately it was able to map my house. We put it to work and it was very methodical and thorough in its task, navigating every corner, avoiding obstacles, and overall does a really good job. There were, however, some features that fell short of expectations. The advertising shows the robot cleaning in a “Matrix”, both up and down and left and right in a checkerboard pattern. The robot will only do this while in “Spot Clean” mode, meaning it will only clean a 5ft x 5ft area “Matrix” style. It will not clean a whole room or much less whole house that way, which was disappointing. Also be aware that there are two attachments, the vacuum only bin, and the 2 in 1 vacuum and mop bin. The robot will only self-empty with the vacuum bin attached. It will not self empty with the 2 in 1 vacuum/mop attachment. So you must manually empty after using the 2 in 1 vacuum/mop mode. Again, disappointing. The app gives you scheduling options, but you can only schedule whole house cleaning not individual room cleaning. You can also set “no-go zones”, as well as “carpet zones”, but if the robot has to go from a hard floor room across a carpeted room to get to another hard floor room, then that creates a problem. We do like our little robot “Steve” as it helps maintain our floors and we put it to work often. Just understand that it doesn’t do everything you might expect it to do.
