Great idea, but....

Like always with Garmin, the sleep monitor is well manufactured and nice to wear. I never have the feeling that something foreign is on my arm during my sleep. The measurement though is unreliable. One night I went to bed at 12:30 am and got up at 8:00 am. Downloading the data to my fenix 8 it read: start of sleep 9:25, end of sleep 1:40 am. Of course it gave me a really bad sleep score of 35, after having been in the 86 to 93 range the nights before. I will see if this was a one time slip or if it will happen more often. This is definitely quite a bit irritating considering the cost of this gadget. How can the monitor start measuring without being worn or touched?
Love my new Garmin Index. It's so comfortable you forget you are wearing it. The data appears far more sensitive as it's a dedicated device doing one job. Easy to use which is also a huge plus and easy to set up.
The index sleep monitor promises to be not just a great solution for sleep, but also for non-sport daytime monitoring. I enjoy not needing to keep my Garmin watch on a second wrist while also wearing a nice watch on the other. Unfortunately the device does not capture body battery data, which is what I was most looking forward to and which it was advertised to include.
It does the job but it doesn't provide any additional features other than the basic sleep features provided in all other watches. So if you already have a Garmin watch, you basically gain nothing by buying this band, other than a more comfortable band to wear while you sleep. Really really hoping Garmin adds additional sleep features or metrics to provide a substantial intesive to buy this. Also, please add an alarm or notification that tells you ahead of time when the pod needs to be charged.
Good monitor. Has a tendency to not catch a night's sleep every couple days. Don't like that I have to wear my watch to get some features. Otherwise nice product.
I have been wearing it at night and Wally comfortable when you first put it on he moves around through the night. The band need something so it grabs to your skin so it gives sliding around and not get an accurate reading. I don’t know if it’s because it keeps moving around, it is defective which probably is that keeps moving around while I sleep it’d be nice if he had some type of like silicon like some bike. Yours is on the inside so it doesn’t move around that way it doesn’t affect Comfortable it is when you first put it on, but I’ll see moves around. It’s not so comfortable.

Thanks for sharing your experience with Index Sleep. Comfort and accuracy are both really important, so I’m sorry to hear the band has been moving around during the night. The owner's manual provides visuals on how to put the band on properly, as well as some additional tips for wearing the sleep band: http://ms.spr.ly/6423sYpMJ

i bought this device ago, it does not work well. have had a few nights of no recordings, and or missing HRV. also sync between watch, sleep monitor and phone, is not stream lined. really wanted to like this device, but perhaps to new/green?
