We love our new HP Pavilion DT, it was everything we expected and more. We had previously upgraded our lap to an HP so when it was time to replace our desktop tower we didn’t hesitate to go HP. Thanks!
For the price, it's got a fast AMD Ryzen 5 chip with 16 GB RAM which means it performs reasonably well. I have multiple applications open which uses about half the available RAM space. I would consider adding more RAM eventually as I move apps off my old Toshiba laptop. WiFi support is good. It handles two monitors without any difficulties although it would be better if the primary monitor port is HDMI vs VGA. The keyboard and mouse that came with the machine are a bit cheesy. I replaced them with an old Logitech wireless set that has a heavier, more stable feel. There is about a 10-15 second lag for the machine to wake up from sleeping. This is the same issue on our HP laptop. The only real annoying issue is McAfee ads popping up to renew a subscription to their services. I just let Microsoft Defender take over after the free McAfee subscription expired. I'm sure there's a way to disable those ads with some research. Otherwise, it's a solid performer.
I've only been using it for a month, but I'm very happy with it. Fast, fast, fast. This computer has both an SSD and an HDD drive. Once I got used to the SSD vs HDD and moving my saved files to the HDD drive, (And remembering my files are in drive D not C, lol) I'm good to go. I hope it stays this awesome for many years. (I truly dislike Windows 11 though. I miss my Windows 10!)
As configured, the system saves all documents and photos to the C: SSD but nothing to D: , the HD. This quickly fills the smaller SSD. Much effort is required to figure out how to use the large D: hard drive.
Finally a home computer that works correctly out of the box with all the features I wanted...and did not cost more than a car payment. Had 3 main features I wanted...real hard drive, DVD drive, and 4 USB ports on front of tower. Only gripe I have is a lot of junk preloaded software that I had to get rid off. Overall great computer for the price.

I am delighted with how quickly the unit comes on line and how it shuts down in only 5 to 7 seconds. My previous unit (a Dell with Windows 10) would take 30-sec. to turn on and sometimes 2-minutes to shut down. I am still learning the Windows 11 features while how to avoid the cloud and trying not to incur any additional expenses.
