This is my third HP Pavilion Desktop computer. The only reason I replaced my other HP's is because Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP, then the great Windows 7 operating system. I find the Windows 11 less organized, counter intuitive, and needlessly sloppy in its function. That's the only thing wrong with my new Hp, aside from the vertical mounted DVD writer. It's getting old throwing away perfectly good HP PCs, printers, etc.... whenever Microsoft decides to release a new operating system, that pales in comparison to the former.
This my 4th HP Desk Top computer since the early 90's. My other three just aged out and I never had a problem with any of them or had to call HP for assistance. That is why I purchased another HP. They are very reliable and met all my needs and the prices have been reasonable. I highly recommend HP computers.
I was looking to replace a ten-year-old iMac and needed something that would cover my basic needs. I don't play games, but I do lots of multitasking. The AMD Ryzen 5 Series works perfect for what I need my computer to do. Runs quick, super quite, and boots fast. The disc drive is a nice comfort feature to have and the various ports both front and back are great. This model, HP Pavilion DT TP01-2165z, does have an HDMI port and VGA in the rear. I do use both slots and have a dual monitor setup. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone.
This is a good, solid computer. It's fast, has plenty of storage, and does everything as advertised. That said, I had to remove one star for two reasons. First, this machine has two drives, SSD C: for programs and HDD D: for data. However, HP gives no setup directions on how to make sure the data flows to the D: drive. Be sure to look up how to do this before you restore data from a cloud service. Second, the keyboard included is cheap, flimsy, small and subpar. (I bought a "real" keyboard separately.)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great desktop. Plenty of usb ports in the front and the back. Plenty of memory. Comes with keyboard and mouse. Extra slots for adding components. Using it for work.
I have owned a Pavillion in the past. So wanted to stay with a proven performer. Set up went easy and I was on my way. Then a major glitch. The DVD WR would not work or play. So I could not download my software on disks. Ultimately, I called HP Help and we did an online chat. The person there was very skilled and soon realized a major program was missing. They fixed it remotely and it works just fine. I was very impressed with the HP technician who solved the problem.
Computer works ok after a session with HP customer support. The problem encountered was inability to connect to the internet consistently with wifi. There were also problems (and still are) in Windows 11 with Edge security refusing to allow access to websites which were not a problem when using Windows 7 professional.
