The accuracy of the unit is excellent. The form factor and materials are excellent. The ease of use for the resident software is good. I wish they made it so you could bring in other softwares and other programs onto the same unit being there's a computer inside anyway. At this price point you would think that they'd have a high-end enough computer to be able to do more than just home tea hero. That's my biggest gripe here. Home tea hero is okay. It is generic in a lot of ways though. I would still recommend this unit as your easy to use home golf setup. My son has been using it every night for a few months and his game has skyrocketed. He's gone from 100 shooter to in the '80s. Thanks for continuing to be a Pioneer Garmin.

Game Changing Launch Monitor

The Approach R50 is my 4th launch monitor. I've purchased the least expensive to a too expensive monitor and this is by far the most bang for the cost. Not needing a computer and having all the metrics I can handle is amazing. One of the things I was looking for was club face data. It has that plus a still or video of the club face at impact. And all this without paying a subscription fee!
I did pay for a year's subscription for Home Tee Hero because it has my home golf course in it's 43,000 courses. I was really excited, but found that the depiction of the course is pretty inaccurate when it comes to hills and valleys. They are way overblown.
Overall though I totally recommend this launch monitor

I like the R50 but my first unit went bad, they sent me a refurbished one and the yardage is off really bad. I’ve tried all the tricks I learned setting up the first one but no luck. I don’t understand why a 5k unit can’t get the yard correct!

I’ve had the R50 for about a month and I love it. It took a little while to get used to all the features that it offers, but they were easy to understand. The 42,000 courses are amazing

My R50 Review after a month of having it

I have had my R50 for almost a month already and I love it, it is all what I has looking for. The data is amazing and comes in handy for me and how I can improve my game. I like the ability to connect to other software like GS Pro, I have not been able to because I still need a computer for it but I know once I get one, it will open my game up to all different types of fun. I would love some more features in practice and I think it would make it even better.
