Only worth it if you pay monthly fee

I bought this thinking that the camera would have some short term internal saving mechanism after the 1 month additional free trial was over. It doesn't have anything like that. Unless I immediately respond to someone being at my door I dont actually see who is there nor am I able to communicate with them. Frequently in the time it takes between being notified someone is at the door and activating live view the person is gone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When using this doorbell you should be able to rely on timely notifications and access to live view anytime day or night. If you are experiencing delays in connecting to video, we will want to look at the connection between your wifi router and the Ring device. The signal strength to your router is a key point for the connectivity of your Ring Doorbell 3. There are three main factors that can weaken your wifi strength:
1. Physical obstructions 2. Competing wifi networks 3. Other electronics

I feel safer already

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this a week ago and not one hour after installing did I finally catch the person who has been stealing my packages. this has been an issue because they were able to old ways get around everybody else's security but now with my ring video doorbell I am now going to be digging my packages and I feel safe when people come to the door because I now know who it is ahead of time which is fantastic .

Veryimited if using battery only.

The battery that is supposed to last 6 months before recharge, only lasts about 4 weeks! Also a lot of times are not in real-time like they show on TV. I was expecting better although it is better than nothing.

The Ring app provides a convenient Power Settings menu that helps adjust these settings. To find it, please launch the app and open the menu in the left-hand corner. Select the Devices tab and then select your Ring Doorbell. The Power Settings tile will be listed on this page. Please follow the guidance within that tile to optimize your Ring battery.
If you haven't already, please install our Rapid Ring app. This new app will make connecting to Live View and other Ring notifications much quicker. You can learn more about Rapid Ring and where to find it in the article below.

Certainly expected better control of features. The motion is not as tunable as other video camera softwares. Battery life is ok if you turn off the extra features. Battery hog otherwise.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Ring Doorbell 3 is designed to provide advanced security features, including improved motion detection and Pre-Roll technology. We're here to help you get the most out of your Ring Video Doorbell 3.
If you haven't already, please enable Advanced Motion Detection on your doorbell.
Advanced Motion Detection will allow you to draw different shapes that are more dynamic than Adjustable Motion Zones. You can add up to three different Motion Zones. The following steps will walk you through enabling Advanced Motion Detection on your device:
- Open the Ring app and tap the three lines on the top left of the screen. - Tap Devices. - Select your Ring Doorbell 3. - Once you’re on the screen with the image of your device, tap Motion Settings. - Then tap Advanced Settings. - Tap on Advanced Motion Detection and enable it.
You will then be prompted to create motion zones. Please use the in-app guidance to draw your zones.
Finally, use the Motion Sensitivity slider to adjust motion sensitivity from minimum to maximum sensitivity, or somewhere in between
Once you’ve drawn your Motion Zones and adjusted the motion sensitivity slider, the changes will take effect the next time the device detects motion. To apply your changes immediately, ring the doorbell.

It’s literally like being home all the time. We love it so much that we bought the Stick Up Cam to try it out and hoping that someday the monitoring system is available in Puerto Rico so we can buy the alarm system.

Love the Ring! It was super easy to set up, easy to manage, maintain. Image(s) are super clear. Makes life/security so much better and easy.
