Great Doorbell!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced my Ring Doorbell version 1 with the Ring Doorbell version 3 and what a difference. We already got a lot of use out of the older version and loved the convenience of seeing who was at our doorstep from anywhere. However, the 3rd version is so much better. I love the greater field of vision, picture quality, and sound quality. I also like that the motion sensor is limited to just a few feet and that it does not pick up on motion that is 30 feet away. It is so convenient to get a notification on my phone that someone is at my front door.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great camera but solar doesn’t work.

I love the camera quality on the Ring Doorbell 3 but the solar panel that goes behind it doesn’t work. Very disappointing to have to keep charging up the battery.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It is imperative to get the most life from your Ring battery, so that it can provide you with round the clock coverage. The Ring Solar Charger is a great solution to extend the battery life. With just a few hours of direct sunlight per day, the Ring Solar Charger should help maintain the battery charge.
If the Solar Charger is not maintaining or increasing the battery life over time, it may be due to excessive activity. The more events captured by your Ring Doorbell 3, the more your battery is used to power the live 1080p HD video stream on your device. Even if you do not answer the call, video is still sent from your Ring product to the Ring servers. In addition, the battery is also drained each time you use the live view to look or speak through your camera. To prevent excessive activity, you can adjust the Motion Frequency setting found within the Motion Settings in your Ring app.

Installed about two months ago.Fiddled with settings but while it detects cars going past in the street, it does not detect people going by on the sidewalk (which is between the street and the Ring).

Great Features

We built a new home two months ago and made Ring our security systems. It is so easy to use through out phones. We love to be able to check our door bell camera and back yard security camera when we are away. We live in a fairly seclude area now and the cameras and overall security the system offers us is very reasurring.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy installation. Doorbell comes with all items needed for installation. Battery is rechargeable And lasts a long time. It does take a little time to figure out which settings work best for your home, but I love that you can turn off certain areas of the camera depending on your needs. I also love the talk through the doorbell feature.

Not recording all movements

Very disappointed that this camera does not capture every movement and person coming to my door. It seems to just pick and choose. I’ve had several people walk right up to my door without being recorded at all but yet it captures every car that drives by on the street. Would never purchase again. Very misleading and inconsistent.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
