Machine Constantly Overheats

I wish I would have used this sooner so I could have taken this shredder back. It constantly overheats, just doing daily shredding. I have attempted to shred about 25 pages and it overheats. I turn it off and come back several hours later and it will let me do half a sheet, then displays the overhead symbol and won't work. I've unplugged the shredder and attempted to "reset" it that way and I still get the same problem. Either I purchased a shredder that was returned by someone else, or this is simply a poorly built shredder. Wish I had never bought this.

I replaced my Fellowes Paper Shredder which I had for almost 10 years and I loved it but this Shredder overheats quickly and I only had half of a bin shredded and it was only 5 minutes. I am returning it and going back to the Fellowes brand. Very unhappy with this purchase.

Fix a problem

When this shredder displays the overheat light, that indicates other problems. Mainly it's clogged and needs oil. Turn it upside down and plier the clumps out. Then apply oil liberably on both cutting edges inside. Turn it upright and squirt oil directly in the feed slot. This puppy loves oil and is a good machine.
