The printer box says this shredder is for medium use and can shred 15 sheets at a time. I don't think it can handle more than a few sheets at most. This probably wasn't the best choice for us.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Staples 15 Sheet Cross Cut Shredder is a quality product. We have always wanted a shredder for all the papers that pile up but every model we’ve tried have been too small and could only shred one page at a time; not worth the time! This model quietly shreds multiple papers at a time including credit cards. If there is a jam the shredder will stop and you can reverse the job to release the document. We’ve been keeping it in the garage but it is on wheels and small enough to be stored anywhere. It has thermal overload protection that prevents overheating and a sensor that lets you know when the bin is full. There is a safety door that covers the slot for shredding but the machine does have an automatic start as soon as you open it. This feature does cause some concern when you have curious little ones. We keep it unplugged for this reason. Overall we like the product; it keeps our countertops clutter free! We would recommend it!

I initially could not get it to work. I doesn't seem like it should be hard. But could not get the light to come on to say it's ready. Noticed the catch basket didn't seem to be set properly but try and try it would not work and would not seat the catch basket properly. Several people came around to help and give it a try. Lot's of fussing and they all tried their solution(s). I gave up and walked away ready to return it. Then someone made it work. We will see if the same problem occurs when the catch bucket is emptied the first time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sleek and efficient paper shredder! The Staples 15 Sheet Cross Cut Shredder is user friendly and virtually ready to use once out of the box. I was impressed with the sleek design. I love the easy slide lid that works as the perfect safety measure to cover the opening and start the machine when you are ready to use. Although it is is slightly larger than a small trashcan I find the size perfect to fit underneath my desk. I love the wheels so that I can effortlessly slide it out when I have larger amounts of paper to shred. I needed a shredder that was quick easy and efficient for my daily personal and business needs. This shredder was exactly what I was looking for. I love that it shreds the paper into small pieces so I do not need to stress at all about confidential papers. The bin holds a decent amount of paper before it needs to be emptied and is easy to remove when it is full. Although there is some noise to the machine it is not too loud for how effective it is. Overall this shredder is the perfect fit for my needs and would be a great shredder for any home office.
