The box states it will run for 20 minutes before it needs to cool off or 40 minutes. It says it can take 15 sheets at a time. It does NOT take 15 sheets at a time I found it does 10 without a slowdown problem. It does NOT last for 20 minutes before needing to cool down. It started having problems at 10 minutes and 12 minutes before I turned it off to rest. So if you only will be be using this short term its fine. For me I have quite a bit to shred (deceased parents medical records) old tax records (20 years worth) my own personal old financial and insurance papers so this machine is going to take me a long time shredding what I need to do ( at least 2-3 months). Once my shredding box is empty it should be ok for me.

Excellent product. I'm fond of the safety feature consisting of a sliding panel that operates the on/off switch. This unit is also much quieter than my previous shredder. I'm my opinion it's well worth the investment thus far.

Tried out the new shredder and it works great. It is much quieter than our previous shredder it has a larger bin and the see-through window makes it easier to see how full it is. Also emptying the bin is much easier as on our old shredder you had to take the top off this just pulls out. Very pleased with it.
