I have only used the shredder a couple of times now but so far it is excellent. It is quiet and I love that I can close the shredding part when it is not in use for safety. I hope it lasts longer than others I purchased from a different brand.

I would rather listen to my mother in law than listen to the noise this machine makes. It jams easily and is a mess to fix when it does jam. I would suggest other name brand units. Probably a little more expensive but worth it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Staples 15 Sheet Cross Cut Shredder is a pretty sweet shredder. It takes care of 15 pieces of paper easily and not too loudly. There is a great safety feature of top that might have saved my toddler his finger.. I love that it can additionally shred CDs/DVDs including old licenses and credit cards ( I never know what to do with old ones) The bin is a very good size so you don't feel like you are constantly emptying it. However the shredder itself is not small so you definitely need to think about where to put it. Overall it is a keeper for me. I like the design and the efficiency.

The unit performs very slow compared to my old Staples unit that is 12 paper capacity. I thought this will be faster since it is a 15 paper capacity. I like the safety features.
