Very quite very fast BUT... very heavy much more than my old one BUT it is a much more heavy-duty one also... Let's see how long before my wife burns this one out...LOL

Turning paper into compost

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was SO excited when I received this shredder! So thrilled in fact I skipped reading the instructions and couldn't figure out how to turn it on. :) Now that I have figured out the safety features and how to turn it on I have been looking for every opportunity I can to shred! I recently got into composting and this has been such a huge help adding "brown" material to my compost! The shredder's bin holds a ton and its super easy to take it with me and dump it into the compost. The shredded paper helps to add carbon soak up any excess moisture and the tiny bits means it will breakdown even faster! I've been shredding junk mail paper grocery bags even thin cardboard! I know this machine can heat up after a while and will need a cooling off period but I haven't run into that yet probably because I have been shredding everything as I find it! The shredded results would make great basket or packaging filler or even craft supplies. If my kids found it I am sure we would have an instant party with confetti everywhere! Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a serious shredder! It is super helpful for composting and creates very satisfying confetti.

Great high capacity shredder

I’ve been using it at home for shredding sensitive mail and it’s the perfect capacity and capability for our needs. It can shred 20 sheets at a time and it had no trouble with shredding several sealed envelopes at a time with folded papers inside. It’s quite heavy so I love that it’s on wheels and I could roll it to the side of my desk out of the way when not in use. It automatically starts/stops when it senses paper in the receptacle and has a safety cover over the entire top which is nice since there are children in our home. I store it with cover closed tucked beside our office desk and unplugged just to be safe. Very functional shredder that I’m glad we have!

I bought it as it was the only one that had positive reviews... until now. I've been shredding checks and 3 checks is about the most this machine can handle without jamming reversing and going forward. I can't imagine trying to shred a credit card or even 10 sheets of paper at once.
