keeps vegies and fruits well, motor and hinges somewhat noisy. 28" built-in, decent use of space and flexibility.

In the store the refrigerator was clearly labeled 18 cu ft. The box is labeled 18 as well. Even the model is an 18. Yet when registering I see that it is 17.5 cu ft. That explains why it is so much smaller than my old 18.2 cu ft model. Very misleading when you are trying to put items in and you discover that they just don't fit the same. It also runs quite a bit more than my 20 yr old GE did. I'm waiting to see what the effect is on my electrical bill.
Also was quite unhappy when I was charged to change the door opening side. Horrible but it was in my kitchen so what could I do.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Response from geappliances.comBy Mike@GEA, GE Appliances, December 2, 2021
Hey there,
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. We do apologize and understand your concern with your refrigerator running a lot. Modern refrigerators save energy by running longer, but at a slower speed. Most of the energy used in a refrigerator is from starting the compressor.
These are factors that contribute to a refrigerator running too frequently or too long:
The compressor will run longer after the initial installation or after a long power outage. The refrigerator will run more if the room has high humidity or high temperature. Doors may have been opened frequently or for an extended period of time. Warm food may have been placed in the fresh food or freezer compartment. Check the gasket for a proper seal. Make sure it is not damaged.
We hope this is helpful. Mike@GEA

I love my new refrigerator and it keeps my food cool and fresh. I don’t like the fact I see some ice along the door of the freezer part of my refrigerator. Not sure what is going on there.

I purchased this refrigerator for my 92-year-old auntie. The refrigerator is beautiful. It has the glass shelves unlike her previous wire shelving. It has a great door suction, and the door shelve can accommodate her juice bottle and mike carton. The refrigerator is small enough to fit in the space allocated for the refrigerator but large enough to put many items inside without being overcrowded. She is so happy with her new appliance.

We were looking for a smaller scale fridge. Nothing fancy. We are happy with this unit with the only issue being that it has a couple slightly louder, and slightly irritating noises. Still a good unit for our granny unit.

I bought this model to replace a very similar one that was 27 years old. This model is a bit higher and has a bit more cubic feet that the 27-year-old one--a plus. The only problem, and this is rather major, is that even when the doors are open to their fullest in the space available, the shelves in the fridge and freezer, as well as the veggie bin, cannot be pulled out completely because the shelves on the door, which are deeper than in the older model, block them. I cannot change the positions of the shelves and I don't know how I'll be able to clean. A disappointment--who'd a thunk it? And how could this have been discovered prior to purchase? Any solutions would be most welcome ;>)
