No more black screen and trying to block the sun to see the screen. I carry a block battery to charge devices on long rides. A recent 10 hour ride required no additional power. Thats a huge deal to not need back up power for navigation. This is my favorite navigation device from garmin.
Been using this device since release, love it. Everything is pretty accurate and I love the New User Interface. There are must have suggestions that needs releasing asap 1. I should be able to look up a route on my phone ans have the option to send to device and garmin be one of those device. This will make for quick route uploading to device. 2. Must have insta 360 device control add on. Should be able to start and stop camera recoding and photos.
Garmin always makes a great product and this is one! The screen is amazing and the updates are worth it!

Battery and display for days and days!

I've used this for about 500 miles in the last 2 weeks and it is night and day better than my 1030 was! The display is amazing and the battery has lasted forever. I keep the screen on all the time and after 300 miles it was on about 26%: my 1030 would have never lasted that long. Tons of great features and well worth the money.
GPS works because it shows my location on the map just fine. But no speed and no distance is shown/tracked. Super-weird. Device has latest firmware installed. Paired with an Enduro 3 for HR tracking (but also tried cycling with Enduro off and same issue.)
I think I love my first ride computer, Edge 1050, but every time I’m trying to start or end a ride and in motion/a rush it’s prompting me for another update!!! Does it prompt me to update when I’ve sat down with the device & have reading glasses on? Ofc not! Try to start a ride… another update prompt.
It is doing everything I need it to do, really like battery life, visibility of screen is awesome ,ability to adjust data fields on different screens is great.
I purchased the Garmin Edge 1050 about a month ago. The features and functionality are so much more advanced and intuitive than my Garmin Edge 1030. I really appreciated the transfer of all my Garmin settings and preferences allowing set up to be a breeze. Love the turn-by-turn voice commands, the climb features, the color screens and the hazard notifications. Appreciate having an internal bell as an additional safety feature. Setting up profiles is so much easier with this new device. One challenging aspect was the USB cable sent with the device did not fit my computer. Downloading maps for device set up was time consuming. Purchase was a bit of an investment but well worth it.
