This is the Top of the Line Solar Powered bike computer on the market. If you are going to get it this, look no further. Very detailed information. It will last forever!
I'm not a pro rider by any means but have been working to extend my rides and needing a computer that would do the same. I live on the Garmin platform and have always been happy with the products. The primary reason for buying this unit is the screen size (needed/wanted for navigating both pre programed routes and exploring) and the battery life. I have done several 6-8+ hour rides with this unit tracking all the things (Heart rate, cadence, wheel sensor, GPS, phone) and not had to charge or use a power saving mode yet.
While do enjoy this product I would like to see it work with my rowing more seamlessly. Tying directly to Hydrow and working in coordination with the my Garmin watch would be great.
Did a 7 day bikepacking trip in September starting with a full charge. After 7 days of riding using turn by turn directions, some up to 8 hours of recording, I finished with just under 50% battery remaining. Others on the trip were barely making it through one day before recharging. Love the climbpro and navigation. Not cheap and won't get you completely off the grid but certainly lets you travel much lighter or save that battery bank for your phone on longer trips.
I bought this one a few weeks back and I'm very happy I did. It has taken me to many great places around northern Boston already. It's pricy but worth every penny of it!
After three weeks still discovering much of what this device can do. Love configuring different data screens for various metrics. Fantastic integration with Rally RK200 pedals, Varia RTL515, Varia UT800, dual HRM and speed sensor 2. Still figuring out which apps and data fields to use from ConnectIQ. Highly recommend!
Big screen, not as helpful as I thought it would be

I have an Epix 2 watch and I purchased this for the trail routing which is impossible to follow on a watch. For that purpose the 1040 has been awesome. I was expecting better screen resolution for the price, often it is difficult to read in bright light. I would probably go with a smaller less expensive version next time. Also, unit fails to turn off or will go into sleep mode and drain the battery.
