Best Dive Computer Ever!
on February 27, 2025

I’ve been diving for 30 years and have seen dive computers become common. Having used almost every watch computer that came, out I can confidently say there isn’t another one to match the Descent Mark 3i. Get it from a dive shop and they will show you all the amazing features it offers

So far so good. I've only had it for a few weeks and this thing is awesome. If you ever choose to get into any other diving this watch will have you covered. Definitely worth the money. My only negative is for how much you pay i wish it included the heart monitor ekg tech but still worth it.

Not overly impressed so far

I haven't used it for diving yet, just smart watch mode so far. Display is nice and bright and battery life is as advertised. The inductive buttons on the other hand are hit and miss at best, Sometimes they work. Sometimes it takes multiple presses to get what I want. I question the long term reliability.

An incredible watch - more than just a dive computer.

I originally had been lookimg at this as a possible replacement for my Shearwater Peregrine dive computer since it has the ability to use air integration.
It wasn't until I did more research into the Descent that I realized this is a fully featured sport watch that not only can act as a dive computer, but also integrates with ballistic devices like a Kestrel and the Garmin chronograph for long range shooting.
Add in the other features, maps for both diving and hiking, biometric data for workouts, and sleep tracking that I realized this is more than just a replacement for my Shearwater.
I bought another for my wife after realizing how amazing this device is.
If you are ok with having a unitasker for a dive computer this might not be what you need - it is after all about three times the cost of a Peregrine.
Myself? I try to limit unitaskers to cut down on extra gear. This was a fantastic purchase.

Great Overall Watch and a Dive Computer on top of that!

The MK3i is a great smart watch with a great dive computer built in. Easy to read touch screen. Lots of options for exercise and activities. The dive computer was so nice to use under water.
I would recommend this device to anyone that dives and is active.
I keep finding settings that make the watch better for me.
Take my advice and buy the MK3i. you won't be disappointed.

Excellent watch and dive computer

As a dive computer, it provides all the information you need, even for technical diving. The battery lasts as long as Garmin claims. One impressive feature is the dive readiness assessment, which integrates all data from your daily activities to give you a score along with an explanation. I've learned what I can and can't do before diving.

It's probably no surprise that I'll start with the screen. The AMOLED screen in the Mk3i is a MAJOR improvement over the Mk2i. It is bright, crisp, and clear and doesn't leave anything to be desired. According to the specs, Garmin had finally cracked the code when it comes to offering this type of screen while simultaneously preserving the amazing battery life that the Mk2i offered The Mk3i now also comes with a touchscreen that allows you to tap and swipe the screen. I will not focus on the overall features of the Mk3i because many videos on the web go pretty deep into this.
The unit itself feels rugged and well-built. It's a tank, but it doesn't feel heavy on the wrist for me. It looks and feels like the very premium product that it is.
After two months of using the Mk3i for running, hiking, and diving, I can confidently say it's the only watch I'll ever need for the foreseeable future, and, apart from the significant pricetag hurdle, a no-brainer for anyone who spends time underwater and enjoys tracking their fitness.

Great addition to my dive locker.

I’m a diving professional who enjoys a very active lifestyle. My last watch was a Garmin Fenix 5s and loved it. After almost 6 years I decided to upgrade to this one. It did not disappoint. It does everything my Older Fenix did plus my diving activities and new health analytics. I’m very happy with my new watch.
